Fear and Hunger is an unforgiving game that pulls no punches. You really do spend the first few hours of the game only learning through failure. If not for online wikis, I would've spent so much longer and so much more hair would've fallen out.

Developed using RPG Maker, this game's mission is to make you feel hopeless and helpless at every turn. Even when you deck out your party with equipment and spells and all sorts of hidden weapons, you can still get humbled very quickly if you let your ego get the best of you. It does a great job of reminding you that you are still just a human in a world of old and malevolent, universal beings beyond your understanding. Lovecraftian horror and references, graphic and violent depictions of taboo subjects, challenging mechanics such as constant starvation/sanity to keep track of, and rewarding lore pickups for the attentive and curious (not everything should be interacted with though...), I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game, and will move on right away to the sequel. This will become my new hyperfixation for a while!

I streamed this game to my friends on Discord, and they were highly impressed, as was I, with the stylish pixel-art and the epic sex scenes. I have no shame. The game is honestly really well-made though. A solid metroidvania-style game. I would recommend it to others who also have no shame, and enjoy the metroidvania genre. Of all the trending NSFW top-sellers on Steam, hell, out of all the NSFW games, this is the one that I would highly recommend spending money on.

Haven't had fun with a game like this in ages! It does everything right! Gameplay, level design, unlockables and crafting, 100% recommend this! This set out to be a love-letter to Castlevania series, and it did it justice for sure!

This game is everything you could want from an RPG. A few bugs here and there, but I'm sure Larian Studios will patch that out soon enough. It took some time getting used to the DnD system, as I came from Div. Original Sin II, and didn't have that dice system there. But now I'm getting the hang out of it, and that feels rewarding in itself. This is worth every penny!

Did one playthrough and a Providence Trial so far, and I'm really enjoying the fresh coat of paint they've put on the original so far. A wave of nostalgia definitely hit me as I played through, the controls are tight as I remember them on keyboard, having a bit of difficulty with controller though, trying to latch onto ropes for climbing. So those controls could be smoothed over a bit. I've never truly enjoyed playing any other character besides Huntress in the original, Chef was a lot of fun and I actually would do pretty insane damage output with him, but in a 2D format, you need to be able to maintain speed via kiting, so Huntress is always the one to go with, imo. But overall, I think this is a decent re-imaging of the original thus far, which had captivated my interest many years ago and really brought back the spark for gaming in me. Will definitely try out the multiplayer on this as well, since I recall the multiplayer being port-based in the old one, which led to supremely laggy and scuffed multiplayer gameplay. Hopefully that's been improved here.

I started playing this game only recently, after its initial surge of popularity and critical acclaim. But I realize now why this game is so well-liked! It does everything a roguelite should, and keeps things fresh and fun with each run! As pretty much every other player has said, it's worth the price and I will keep trying to complete at least one playthrough, if not more, because I can see myself getting better at the game haha. It was nice to see all the mythological references as well, visuals are wonderful and gameplay is tight and responsive. Well-crafted game, looking forward to the sequel!

I've only played for a bit so far, but after my first run, my expectations and assumptions for this game have been shattered beyond belief. I'm impressed by the sound design, visual effects and art direction, plot devices and engaging writing, voice acting, every aspect of the game is astounding. My only complaint is that some of the music/dialogue audio sounds like it's clipping/peaking at points, not sure if that's a stylistic choice for some of the songs, but some Princess audio clips definitely sound like they were recorded on a less-than-ideal mic. But at any rate, I can overlook that for the fact that everything else in the game has blown me away so far. For me, Slay the Princess has set a new standard for visual novels.

I have genuinely enjoyed every single moment of this game so far, and it's been a while since I've said that so earnestly about a game before.

All in all, a solid Sonic game that I enjoyed from start to finish. The occasional geometry collision issue was present, but it wasn't glaring enough to significantly take away from my enjoyment of the overall game. I was surprised by the more serious tone of the writing and interaction between Sonic and crew. The lore references to previous games were nice as usual, though a lot of that nostalgia factor is present in Sonic games nowadays anyway.

In terms of the cyberspace levels, I don't think this is too much of a spoiler, but essentially you'll see the same stages (in terms of visual design and assets) from past games being reused, Green Hill, Chemical Plant, Sky Sanctuary, and City Escape/Radical Highway. They have layout elements and gameplay mechanics from other stages too, such as a "snowboarding" section like the one from Sonic Adventure's Icecap, or various rail/spring that you have to homing attack several times like Sky Rail from Adventure 2. Still fun to see how quickly you can speed through and experiment with the layout.

Worth the full-price to me, genuinely enjoyed the overwhelming majority of my time playing the game.

Definitely looking forward to a potential sequel/follow-up, based on that true hard-mode ending...

Incredibly faithful remake, some of the unsavory parts of the original have been filtered out, and overall it's a really solid and more realistic experience. Phenomenal.

This game is phenomenal. The concept and characters are creative, wacky, and humorous, yet the gameplay is intense and encourages you to really practice your dexterity and hone your skills. Definite recommend.
