Liked the older game(s)? Can't imagine you wouldn't like this. Curious? Play it and find out. Overall glad it's just as unforgiving as the original, and the atmosphere is amazing. Being an old-school style FPS though I am save scumming all over the place, and glad for it. We need more games like this. Sometimes the older gaming mentality is so much more fun and rewarding. Still can't believe I'm playing a sequel after all this time.

I'll recommend this game, but keep this in mind assuming you already have some awesome games in your library that you haven't played yet: Imagine hiring a chef to bake you a gourmet pizza. He/she arrives, ingredients in hand and produces the finest pizza you've ever seen. It smells amazing. You know it will be delicious. Then, however, you stumble across a bunch of Totino's pizza rolls in the freezer. You turn to the chef and say, "No, how about we warm these up first and then if I'm still hungry we'll eat your delicious pizza."

This game is a box of Totino's pizza rolls. Good, but mostly when you're drunk and don't want to work too hard at anything. My advice? Go gourmet if you have the option.

A fragment of an idea that could be very interesting if fleshed out beyond what feels like an indie dev gauging his potential audience's interest. For now, the shrimp is free so eat up I guess.

FIrst - the misleading bit about local coop is unfortunate and is certainly a strike against Capcom. I'm hoping they rectify this issue for those who bought the game solely for this. But....

I wasn't planning on trying any sort of coop with this game so luckily I wasn't affected. Res Evil has always been a single player experience for me, and to that end I found the first chapter of this iteration to be a lot of fun. It keeps the structure of the first Revelations intact, but adds something new into the mix with a light crafting feature and an AI partner that is actually somewhat helpful. If you've played any RE since the fourth one, you're fairly familiar with the gameplay from the start; and I'm glad to say it's just as tight a third person shooter you could ask for. There are bits of exploration and action which are fed to the player at a good pace. It's not quite the backtrack-fest of the earlier RE's, but it's also not the Michael Bay-fest of the 6th game. It's a good balance and I appreciate the thought put into both the creepy atmosphere and the enemy encounters. That said, the setting is a little ho hum so far (act 1), and I'm hoping to see some diverse environments as it continues. Also of note is the performance - I had some stuttering issues, but when setting the framerate limit to 60fps this dropped dramatically, though not completely. So I am hoping for a patch to address this. Lastly I'd like to bring up Barry's daughter. We're supposed to like her, and hope for her well being through Barry's sections; but she's far from agreeable. With all her f-bombs and angsty complaining, I kind of wish Claire would accidentally shoot her - I've tried believe me!

All in all, a good start to what I'm hoping is a great game. I give it a hesitant recommendation only because of it's performance issues.

A short indie title that delivers as far as I'm concerned. The platforming is functional, and mildly fun; but play it for the grand sci-fi vistas, music and competent story. This is a game that knows what it is, and delivers no more, no less than it needs to. Four hours and a few bucks well spent!

I had SOME fun with this short game. The platforming, while frustrating at times, was surprisingly tight and well done which is good considering that was the core of the gameplay. The other draw of the game is the narrative - which is unfortunately lacking. I finished the game knowing that I was supposed to be feeling....something, but I found only that feeling of accomplishment that comes with finishing any game. It's mainly just another notch in my gaming belt. I don't think enough time was spent in developing the characters. This could be budget-based, and likely is; but that doesn't change the fact that I just didn't care about the uncle or his story, which seems sort of important considering the title of the game. It also didn't help that the voice talent was severely lacking - lines with obvious weight to them were delivered with a droll monotone, and the narrator would consistently pause in inane spots. This only helped to lessen the effect the story had on me, which was struggling to begin with. I'm going to recommend this only to gamers looking for at least one of the following: eye candy, or fun trial and error platforming. Steer clear if you're looking for much beyond this. It's a solid attempt, and could be great with a longer development cycle and more production values, but ultimately fades where it should shine.

This game has been out for awhile, so I'm not about to argue the merits of it. Check out the multitude of reviews on YouTube and elsewhere (it's certainly not the Final Fantasy I grew up with, but an interesting evolution nonetheless). So, regarding PC performance...I'm not overly concerned with the rez being locked to 720p, it still looks great. I am concerned with the performance; basically I had a smoother experience on my PS3 and my PC's hardware is more than up to task to run this game. I get FPS drops during exploration and somewhat during combat; but even more annoying are the drops during the many, many cutscenes - these are very well done, but become hard to watch after awhile. I'm going to be patient for now with SquareEnix, as I know they are somewhat new to PC developement; and judging by my own experience so far, and the overwhelmingly negative forum comments, I hope they address the performance issues and even add some standard PC graphics options. I'm going to recommend this for now, as it still plays "okay", and is still an enjoyable experience; but without any patches to optimize this game, we're merely stuck with a somewhat acceptable port. Somewhat.

A challenging third person parkour-ish/platformer. The gameplay is lightning fast and while you may end up fighting with the controls at times, once you wrap your head around them, you'll be rewarded. I suppose it's like if Faith from Mirror's Edge were reimagined by the Ratchet and Clank team(Insomniac), and given a jet pack. I'm not very good at the harder levels yet, but knowing the ways I could get around each level if I practiced blows me away. It's fast, and demanding of accuracy - I recommend mouse and keyboard for quicker camera movement.

Way to make me feel inadequate - a one man development "team"? Sure, there were others involved in the writing, music, playtesting, etc.; but Mr. Dodrill really put out an amazing product here. Here's to hoping he gets tons of dollars for his next project and shows us what unfettered talent can really do. Anywho, play this game - if you like that sorta thing.
