i do recommend the game.
it is worth playing right now, but it doesn't deserve the recommendation at this moment. they need a few months to iron out the scuff.

i've managed many hours without crashes, but i still get gpu driver failure crashes sometimes.
and there are a lot of obvious bugs in game.
and half-baked systems and features.
and a lot left to be desired in quality of life stuff.
really lacking in the rpg department in terms of "choices matter" or just hard lockouts like romance requirements.

- for me, i spent the first 100 hours played with a non-functioning steam overlay, so no screenshots or fps display. the solution was moving the dx12 files out of the subfolder into the parent where the game exe is located... (this may also solve some of my crashes, but it is really hard to tell at this point, as i am 95% done with the game now...)

- i am unable to run the game with g-sync enabled. the game looks like its melting my pc at under 5 fps if i have it on. perhaps a problem with the game only having windowed or borderless windowed options in the settings... (no plain fullscreen option)

- one unresolved issue for me is RED launcher doesn't sign me in, so no way to redeem pre-order bonuses...

- there was 2 early side missions that i failed (and i didn't reload because my save wasn't very recent) - the failure was due to a mission requirement for a car with passenger seat, when the main story crashed my only car and i was to wait for it to be repaired, yet i get these 2 missions early on, and all i had was a bike. fail design.

- i think people will put this game behind them pretty quickly.
story is quite short, choices are illusions. lack of 3rd person. really bad relationships for an RPG. bad" sex" scenes due to 1st person restrictions (would rather see a kiss and fade to black instead of what we get is jank scuff embarrassing camera angles and awful lighting that makes you look like something out of your nightmares... technical failures)

- all side content - it may feel like a lot, but i think it isn't that much content. most of it is giving street cred, but max level for that is 50 - you will reach 50 street cred long before you finish HALF the content, so then you're getting less engagement for continuing beyond that point.

- i think the limit on attribute makes it so you get less out of your experience. skills grow as you use them, but are capped by attribute investments. but imo it would be more satisfying and give you more to do and play longer if you could level all skills regardless of attribute investment (skyrim is the best example i can think of). you can really only focus on 2 or 3 of the 5 attributes, meaning likely 4 or more skills will be cut off from you. which i find boring design, particularly because you are overpowered quite early regardless. so this restriction is pointless.

- i changed the files so the crafting and disassembling is almost instant. it is quite ridiculous that you can only craft 1 at a time and have to hold a button. crafting is a slog without editing this.

- the same issue exists with trying to sell consumables.. the consumables in this game are trash, and super common loot, and take forever to sell them. hopefully this gets reworked. it is absolutely awful.

- the mini-map needs rework. should get dynamic so it zooms out when you drive, and an option to not rotate (TW3 has this).

- most vehicles are a nightmare to handle. the coyote is probably the most dependable.

- the pedestrians lose their mind if you park on the sidewalk.... but there is NO parking in this game. but you parked on the sidewalk??!?! you are a terrorist !!!

- when you finish shopping with a vendor, they think you're rude for walking away from a conversation that doesn't exist. every single vendor does this.

- what is more annoying than these 2 issues? um... the street corner pedestrian signs that speak "WALK WALK WALK WALK" all over the entire game. stfu stupid sign!

- when you are going around clearing areas of "bad guys" and saving people's lives, they usually do not even say thank you. they just stay there with their hands up as if they're still being held up by the bad guys... or after thanking you they then begin to fear you because you killed the bad guys... there is never a direct conversation with anyone after. reminds me a bit of of TW3 'liberation' areas, but half-baked.

--- there is a lot of half baked stuff in this game. hopefully in a year when they start adding expansion stuff, all the obvious issues will be reworked and resolved, for a much better experience. it is just sad that this was released like this, as it feels like AAA early access.
