Yes and No.
It kind of depends on what kind of game you're looking for.
If you know friends that play this then it's a higher yes. Playing this came is extremely better playing with other friends.
Biggest plus: This game is nothing like what you've played. PvPvE games are pretty common but this game has a heavy core for naval combat. One of the biggest reasons I love this game is because the naval combat is so much fun and can be very chaotic. It's fun to learn but it will take some time. You will sink, learn to accept that. You will lose loot and it will be a pain and it sucks but there's nothing in this game that makes you better if you spend your gold/money on it. Everything you spend money on in the game is cosmetic and does nothing that increase your skill with anything (except one set of sails that makes it easier to see in front of you in larger ships but that's if you're lazy or don't talk to your team)
Hardest subject to talk about:
On foot combat against players and even PvE situations are very very rough as of right now. The way the guns work are not hitscan. They have travel time and do drop over distance which isn't the issue, it's the server registration for each shot. The server tick to receive information is worse than before. You will have several issues where you will get a hit marker and do no damage to other player or enemies or even explosive kegs. On foot combat is very rough as of this post.

Overall I really enjoy this game and if you want to play a game with a unique large combat system to learn and meet people, either for comedy or combat, you'll have a unique time. There's plenty of videos out on youtube for you to learn the way of the sea's. Just know, this game will not hold your hand. Once you're in the open world, always keep an eye out. Good Luck
