Out of the latest three RPG-style AC games, I prefer this one over the other two. I was originally not going to play Valhalla just based on everything I had heard about the game like the big map, long main story, settlement management etc. Also noticed that some of the controls were changed from the previous two games, but after getting started, the game started feeling more fluid compared to Odyssey and Origins. In the other two with location objectives, I felt the need to complete every single location right away, but in Valhalla with massively cut down looting, the game felt much better when you could just play and focus on the story instead of deviating to get some loot in the middle of a quest.

Combat in Valhalla is easily the best of the three RPGs. Odyssey's problem was endless mathematics to figure out the best combination of perks in your gear and constantly changing some bits of armor just to get a few more points of damage in, and still yet you would find yourself fighting one basic opponent for multiple minutes. Origins was the most straight forward, just go with the type of weapon you like and pick the one with most damage. Valhalla had some customisation regarding what style you want to play and combat felt smooth and fluid while making the player feel like a strong warrior.

When it comes to the much whined about size of the map and story, I admit, it did feel a bit overwhelming at some points. I primarily play FPS games and played ACs as a sort of cool down game when I didn't feel like grinding competitive games, but even then I had to take a few weeks of hiatus from Valhalla to come back to the game for it to feel fresh and rewarding again.

I got myself the season pass with the two story extensions in Wrath of the Druids and Siege of Paris, but opted to not play Dawn of Ragnarök.
- Wrath of the druids was packed with more world activities to grind, which felt like slowing down the tempo of the story, but overall a nice pack of content for the game. Good story and cool map in Ireland.
- Siege of Paris was REALLY GOOD and far better than Wrath of the Druids. The story was well written and nicely paced and never felt like I was doing anything unimportant. I really liked the numerous bossfights that litter the storyine every so often and every assassination event with the setup phase and information gathering was a nice touch. All this made Siege of Paris seem more real in a way. Overall a great, fluid DLC.
