A fantastically fun little gem. Truly does feel like a 'Kings Field'like. I hope to see more from it, or at the least from the creator.

There is a lot of potential here. It does clearly take a lot of inspiration from the other games of it's genre, uncannily so, but so do the rest of the games, everyone inspires the next - that's fine.

The farming is standard but enjoyable. The museum and collecting is great! The mines are fun (though I feel there needs to be tweaks to how and how often the next level stairs appear). And the quest lines and stories are nice :)

What isn't fine is the fact that the game seems to lack a significant amount of polish. Crashes, lag, weird dialogue triggering (Somebodies wife/husband congratulating us on our engagement ... to them ... days after our own weddings?).

Entire quest lines are unfinished, ending in simple WIP tags and to be continued - after the 1.0 release.

I really feel like some of the costs and values need significant tweaking. Moving a farm building costs money, destroying it costs over 3 times that? Clothes, and appliance seem prohibitively expensive. After upgrading the house to have a kitchen, you can't even cook unless you drop another 3k on an oven.

I know the games in the genre have slow progression, but it does feel like a -crawl- at the start - as you progress this does ease, perhaps the curve just needs shallowing just a tad?

Give it a few large patches and I'm sure this game will shine ... but it isn't there yet.

Really really fun game, with a very strong design identity. It looks great, its sounds great, its full of laughs - that combined with a solid gameplay loop make it the best co-op game I've played this year. Best with friends, but with features that make solo play almost as rewarding.

Looking forward to how the game evolves and expands into the future!

They might not get everything right, and some updates might be a little bit too ambitious, but the core gameplay is solid, and its a really really fun game. DE are passionate about the game, and that comes through every time - and it's what matters most, the heart of it all.

Whatever comes in future updates, I'm excited to see!

Early Access Review
A roguelike that mixes elements of Magic the Gathering, classic tabletop D&D, and tactile third person combat.

Of late i've struggled to play roguelikes. Getting so far, dieing and loosing everything. But with Hand of Fate, even if you die mid game, you can still retain any rewards you have already unlocked, in the form of "Token" card unlocks, expanding your deck, win or loose.

Care variety is huge, and the random nature of everything makes for some really interesting games. Unlocks cards, change your potential load out, and delve into the dungeons.

Finally having fun with roguelikes again, even in its early access stage, with so much more to come!

Being a veteran player who fell in love with Divine Divinity, enjoyed Beyond Divinity, and felt Divinity II fell a little flat - Divinity: Original Sin is refreshing and hella' lotsa' fun!

TL;DR - Brilliant game - Worth your money and time - Easily justifies the £30 price tag, with me currently standing at 50+ hours, still not finished, and with a reasnable amount of replayability.

The game feels like it should, large open world (Albeit with 4 medium sized seperate instanced areas), which holds surprises and secrets for those that search it all. As it should.

Controls are mouse control driven, and fairly easy to get the hang of. Combat is a little different to the live action style of DIvine and Beyond. Instead we have a turn based combat system. This put me off at first, but what it allows is a more tactical style of fighting. Trying to organise your steam clouds location, and well placed lightning bolt to charge the cloud would be impossibly chaotic in real time. The system can get a little sluggish when in large encounters, with the enemy AI taking large amounts of time to take its turns. However as long as you can dispatch enemy combatents quickly, the time they take quickly decreases. A live action combat style in Divnity Sin would feel a little out of place. However, perhaps a mod, or patch can create this functionality (If the engine can even support it) optionally.

The game doesnt take itself too seriously, again as it should, with jokes and quirky quests around every corner. Loot is interesting and randomised. At times the pools of different cosmetics for the armor can be a little spares, but I imagine more unique skins will be added as time goes on. Unique items are interested, powerfull, and rare enough not to feel too easy to gain. Companions can be customised as much as the two main charecters, and hold there own interesting stories, and quirky comments as the adventure goes on.

I havent had a chance to play CO-OP which I imagine will sell the game to a lot of people, the drop in drop out multiplayer seems easy enough to manage, and with party decisions having to be voted in, could lead to some very interesting gameplay. However lossing control of one charecter, may make combat that little bit more labourious.

Sunk over 50 hours into this £30 game - £1 = 1 Hour rule easily acheived - In that regard, totally worth your money and time, for both veteran players looking for Divine nostalgia, or new players look for an interesting fantasy RPG with its own quirks and flare.

"Notice: Microsoft Xbox 360® Controller for Windows® (or equivalent) is strongly recommended."

The above statement is a requirement, not a strong recomendation, it feels awfull on KBAM, but with with a pad its grand,

Regardless of that point, the game is tricky, but once you complete one of these challanges the feeling is amazing, its got so much lore if you take a deeper look, but it DOES require the deeper look, anyone who is wanted to be guided through the entire game with a hand hold and on screen prompts should turn back now, the game requires exploration, trial and error, and alot of common sense, you receive almost no obvious guidance what so ever,

If you want a deep RPG that will net you 70+ hours, praise the sun, and buy this game !

I hate the Deathmatch style gameplay that Killing Floor and L4D2 has, but love killing zombies.

Dead rising is as brutal as both the above games, but with more weapons, brutal combo weapons, vehicles, a structured story, with challanging time restrictions and multiple endings, and an all together sandbox style of gameplay.

Run around and cause chaos, craft some weapons, and get slaying. Glad a finally got round to buying this.

The "Off the record" version, a kind of directors cut, also cuts out all bugs and adds more missions, for a better, more stable, longer game.

A game of my youth, that my mother and father both have copies of, a great RPG, with some good dungeon crawl elements, with such a big open world, and so much to do it guarentees a good long play,

The skill system withen the game can alough for 3 big subtypes of gameplay, and within each subtype whatever the heck you want to play,

"Home is where you put your hay and a teleport pyramid" - Andy Evans, will very much enjoy playing this again.

Was looking forward to this game the moment i heard its name, classic dungeon crawler, grid based movement, full of secrets and puzzles ... finished it 100% in about 20 hours, so its a decent length.

But with the modding tools and dungeon builder within sight, the doors open for hundreds of new dungeons and world to explore, a game in active development, just the way i like them.
