If you are a Metroidvania fan, I would say that this is probably one of the funner games of the genre.

A solid story, vibrant colors, and smooth gameplay, Guacamelee is a fun game and definitely worth playing.

I think the biggest selling point is definitely the solid gameplay mechanics and the very stylized artwork. It stands out in a field of this type of game by avoiding pixel art sprites, as well as conveying a distinct feel and borrows heavily from the Mexican Day of the Dead festival trappings.

Point&Click adventure games have always had a special place in my heart, given that they are some of the first story driven games I played. And LucasArts ones were the best at the time.

The Dig is probably one of the best from the LucasArts collection. And for good reason. Writen in part by Steven Spielberg and Orson Scott Card (The writer of Ender's Game for those who don't know)

There are so many reasons to love this game, despite being over 20 years old now. Yes, it hasn't aged the best, and would benefit from the remaster treatment that Grim Fandango and Monkey Island have recieved.

The cons thankfully are a short list. The graphics are outdated. For many of the newer generations of gamers, this is a problem. But if you can get past the lower res imagery, the scenery is beautiful and diverse. The other downside is that some of the puzzles can be extremely difficult without some of the finer clues strewn about in the Myst series of games. Indeed, this is a "try everything with everything regardless of absurdity type games.

On the flip side, the pros are a enough to overcome those two shortcomings. The story is rich. And in the tradition of good science fiction, is thought provoking. There is a morality that is entwined with the story but doesn't bash you over the head like a falling tree. The musical ambieance is lovely, lacking the twangy cartoonishness of most games of the era. Indeed, when compared to most of the LucasArts point&click games, the whole of the game is downright sombre, without much of the lackadaisy humor that games such as Day of the Tentacle and Monkey Island have in spades. Overall, it's an enjoyable experience.

TL;DR: If you are going to make a stink about how outdated the graphics are, move on. Otherwise, this is a brilliant point and click game from a bygone era that is worth every penny.

A simple game with a very simple premise. Don't hit anything. I got this game for an extreme discount. (I think I paid maybe 50p for it?)

It a fun little diversion, and you can always keep pushing a bit further. While it isn't anything particularly new or innovative, it runs smoothly, is visually appealing despite it's bright colors, and easy enough to play.

So, worth it if you want to kill some time or to unwind from or gear up for more energy and attention intensive games.

Possibly one of my favorite games from my youth.

Avernum 2 is probably the best game from the Avernum series, also known as Exile when it was top-down 2D. While the game can be a little bit plodding at times, the story itself is incredibly rich set in an exotic realm.

That said, this is not a modern RPG game. In fact, it falls more squarely on the classic games such as Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale. And there is a LOT to do. So much so that even before I purchased this modern remake, I could play the old shareware version of Exile II for hours and still not touch the part of the game you had to pay to access.

The graphics are not top of the line. And that is fine. The interface is lightyears cleaner than the original interface for Avernum 2. This is a very retro game, turn based, and definitely not the same sort of fast paced RPG as a lot of modern ones such as Elder Scrolls or Fallout are. This is for people who deeply enjoyed the original Fallout, Baldur's gate.

My recommendation is this: If you enjoy retro RPGs, or were raised on the classics of the 2D era, this is for you.

Early Access Review
Starbound has plenty of potential once it gets out of it's Beta.

I look forward to the fully optimized game.

The only downside I see right now, and that hope gets fixed in the near future is the ability to adjust the graphics and video settings a bit. As it is, running on my lower end computer is far more laggy than it should be.
