On a Journey of Redemption...
You don't need to know much about me, save that I've got a huge backlog of games and not enough time in the world to complete them all. I am fueled purely by tacos, explosions, caffine, big booba, heavy metal, sleep deprivation, whips, chains, swords, bullets, blood, fire, fury, rage, and perpetual boredom. Follow at your own risk or don't, its your call.

I actually bought this game on a while a couple years ago because it looked like an interesting FPS and it was like $12 at the time. Then Realms Deep 2021 happened and that's when I saw Project Warlock II and thought that it was time to play this one. I am disappointed that I waited this long to play it.

Okay, so the game is inspired by classic FPS games, Doom, Heretic, Hexen and Wolf 3D with some interesting twists and additions. For one, you don't start off with a pistol, but an axe and a dagger which are useful for not only saving ammo, but have unique attacks of their own and are good for opening walls, crates and finding treasure.

Then you pick up the Warlock Staff and start zapping things, its weak and can eat up your mana if you spam it like a dingus, but it has a charge attack that's like a magic rail gun and that's before upgrades.

The rest of the weapons are standard for these types of FPS games, Pistol, Shotgun, Super Shotgun, SMG, Rocket Launcher, Energy Weapon. Then you find the crossbow which is good for lining up multiple targets, a flamethrower, TNT.

All of these weapons have upgrades, that you can only pick one of, but that's perfectly fine, it adds to the replay value. Though I prefer the magnum upgrade for the pistol because I like feeling like Dirty Harry, plus it is good for weaker enemies and somehow gibs slimes (I don't get it either).

To each their own, maybe you'll like certain upgrades better, but I love the loadout I have.

The spell system isn't bad either, you can pick them up from certain levels and bosses throughout the game. You start with the Light cantrip, then go on to get a freeze blast, flying grenades and my personal favorite, Storm Rage which is good for clearing rooms full of smaller enemies.

You get experience from finding treasure, killing enemies and finding secrets, which you can use to upgrade your character. Everyone is different as far as how they want to build their character. You also get Perk Points every 5 levels which can do a variety of things, again depending on your play style.

I've only gotten to episode 4 but I absolutely adore this game and am proud to have back Project Warlock II on Kickstarter.

Give this game a try, I promise it's worth your time.

I didn't think I was going to enjoy this game as much as I did but holy crap is this game a riot. Honestly I haven't played Cthulhu Saves the World or Breath of Death VII but I did enjoy some of the interactions between the NPCs during story events. Probably gonna have to play the other games at some point.

Pros:
- Cthulhu
- Christmas puns
- Chickens
- A unique battle system that challenges the player to think strategically.
- Fourth wall breaks
- References to other RPGs
- Awesome soundtrack, especially on the boss battles

Cons:
- Battles can tend to drag if you don't prepare and equip your party properly.
- It's short, only like 10-12 hours, probably less if you don't grind.
- You probably won't get the references to other games unless you've played them. (It doesn't detract from the game but you guys should be aware.)

It's a great little game and definitely worth a look, highly recommend this one if you need a laugh or if you're looking for a bit of a shorter RPG experience.
