This is a fun little game. Both relaxing and challenging at the same time.
The soundtrack is great and the controls are very responsive.
Wholesome and enjoyable.

The first jump scare made me very jump scared. I nearly fell off my chair! I had no idea how the alien/monster would present itself and there was an intense slow build up to the event with great sound effects and a dark atmosphere.

A wonderful thriller/mystery. Easily could be a prelude to a bigger project. Void Whispers certainly has the bones to build a solid world upon.

An excellent free game. Try it and see for yourself.

Started this game not expecting much (more than another Vampire Survivor clone.)
Nine hours later, still playing and enjoying Choo Choo Survivor, which is kinda unique enough to keep a small amount of my ever-flickering interest.
It's a fairly mindless game, that I have played mostly while watching Netflix (seen Baby Reindeer?), not really a game that demands attention. Like most games in this genre, they are minimally skill based, not much more than achievement clickers that weave a gaming illusion... to make the player feel like they are accomplishing tasks.
If you like tinkering while watching television, this is for you.

It's a prologue of a game.

I expect 2D platformers to be hard and challenging. However Blaite is neither hard or challenging; but rather based upon luck and repetition.

Around level 15, you will encounter blobs that move erratically and are impossible to avoid with timing and reflex. You will have to continually retry blob levels until you get a lucky break. As you are chased by a killer bat and be under fire of several guns when you encounter the blob, you time is zero to react...and depending upon which way the thing chooses to move will determine if you live or die in the moment. No amount of skill will change the result.

On top of this fun-draining mechanic, the controls can often be unresponsive, failer to jump obstacles and failer to climb ladders is common. It is simply a lazy and badly made platformer. Do not buy, even on sale.

Feels like a prologue to a much longer game.

So many questions arise....whats the story of the derelict pool?... how did the monster came to dwell here.... who are the people behind Nourishment Inc and what are their grand schemes?

Seems the mystery of Flesh water will be left to your imagination to answer.

Did I like this game? Absolutely. Did I find this game mundane. Yes.

(Just) another cautionary tale about the dark and slippery path of ambition. A well written game with nice artwork.

I could find nothing really outstanding and groundbreaking to call Distraint a masterpiece; what I found was familiarity, a warm companion that acknowledges the truth of our society and lifestyle, particularly here in Australia in 2024.

Distraint is about rampant progress, and about the inevitable cannibalistic nature such progress demands of modern civilisation .....and the "Price" that is harvested on the souls that take the bait.

Looking forward to playing the second installment.
