Have you ever played a Starship Troopers game and wished it had more Japan in it? Then this is the game for you! It's a silly, campy, looter/horde shooter with straight forward gameplay and mechanics that is just fun distilled down to its purest form. You kill giant insects and collect hp and weapon upgrades. Early on you get a lot of funny/meme weapons, but as you progress through the game and difficulties you start getting OP weapons. This game doesn't take itself seriously and you shouldn't either. EDF! EDF! EDF!

This is a game that is easy to sit down to and do a run or 2. It takes about 1 hour to complete a run successfully, less if you die... and you will die. In the beginning if you don't run off and use some guides you will spend a lot of time figuring out what cards combo together for a strong deck, what makes a deck strong, and what enemies and events to watch out for. If you like experimenting without losing too much time then this is a solid game to dive into.

I've put in over 80 hours and still haven't even made it to Ascension 10 with any character. Ironclad and Defect are my favorite characters so far. I just haven't put enough time into learning the Silent. I will be playing this game on and off for years to come. Also a new character is on the way, currently available in the beta branch.

XCOM:EU/EW Is a fantastic blend of tactics and strategy. I enjoyed XCOM 2, but coming back to EU/EW reminds me of how lackluster the strategic layer in 2 is. I've only played 1 campaign of vanilla though, most of my game time comes from the Long War mod which adds a lot of depth to both layers of the game so I don't actually know how much I can say about vanilla being I haven't played that in years. So if you play Vanilla and enjoy it and love tactics game I highly recommend looking into Long War. Even for a Vanilla campaign I would suggest looking into the many awesome QOL mods that are out there.

I've haven't played many metroidvania games, but this was just something I couldn't put down once I started it. It was also neat to play at the same time as my friends to figure out just how many different paths you can take to get to different areas at different stages in the game. Exploration and adventure at its finest with fun platforming and combat! Get it. You won't regret it!

My first match I jumped into my team had just finished defending our trench. The music sounded and the attack order was given. My team charges out of our trench towards the enemy held trench. Machine gun and rifle fire kills me and most of the charging soldiers. 10/10 Authentic WW1 experience would charge towards my death again.

CS:GO Review
A shooter that requires skill and tactics in this modern day of CoD and BF? Yes please. A lot of people like to complain that this game has issues, but in the end this is the most solid FPS on PC at the moment. It has a skill gap larger than any other FPS out there. Practice will give you an edge over other people. Teamwork and communication wins games. The only downside is that sometimes people don't like to work as a team, but that can be avoided by not solo queuing. There are not as many hackers and people seem to think. Most of the time people just can't handle someone being that much better than them.

Don't let the nerd rage hate put you off from PA:Titans.

This game is a stand-alone expansion, much like Forged Alliance, Brood War, Frozen Thrones, or Heart of the Swarm/Legacy of the Void. Apparently if anyone else does that is is completely acceptable, but not Uber, no way. They shouldn't expect any more for their work, nope, not at all!

PA:Titans expands on, what despite other people might say, an already solid game. Planetary Annihilation throws you into a universe in turmoil, torn apart by great machines of war, reawakening to bring about destruction once again. The game has one faction, the robots, all these units are the epitome of perfection. Each unit has been honed through years of war, why use anything other than the best? This allows for balanced gameplay without worrying about which faction is the "best". Unlike most RTS games you fight on a spherical planet, this can be challenging for new players at first, especially those who are new to RTS games in general. With this brings a host of new choices and challenges in regards to taking and holding a position. You might think that front line wall is secure, but watch your back, or for a sneak attack from bots emerging from the ocean floor! Taking it a step further is the fact that you get the chance to fight across more than one of these planets ranging from Earth like to, moons, volcanic, desert, ice, and ocean planets! You can even fight over orbital control of a gas giant! Then there is the almighty game ending metal planets which if brought online can blow up other planets with their giant lasers.

PA is a fast paced game. If you have extra resources, build more factories, if you have extra factories, secure more metal. You can never have enough of anything. More is better. More is always better!

Titans adds on new multi-tiered terrain features which allows for more interesting planets, which can be custom made in their planetary system editor. It also brings with it an expanded unit roster, adding 1 or more units to every factory in the game.

Then there are the Titans themselves and boy oh boy are they TITANIC! They are so large factories can't even build them, you must construct them with your fabricators as if they themselves were a structure, except that compared to a titan the buildings in this game are mere ants. There is a bot, vehicle, air, space, and planet titan each bring with them their own benefits and uses, but none of them are invincible. The bot titan is a giant mech that smashes the enemies to nothing, literally. The vehicle titan is a large armored hover tank mounted with large cannons that pack a punch and fire from a distance. The air titan rains down balls of electricy dealing splash damage the enemies below. The space titan can be linked to ground teleporters and beam units to the surface from orbit, this is a great new addition for breaking planetary defenses which stop games from dragging on into stalemates. Finally the planet titan is a structure that upon completetion begins a countdown to destroy the planet it was built on! Make sure your commander is safe and sound off planet should you choose to build this guy!

This game was new and risky. It required an engine builts specifically for it. They choose to do this game via Kickstarter to escape the deadlines and expectation set by a publisher and the trade off was giving fans access to an incomplete game built on new and experimental technoloy. Making a game is not easy, it takes time, and dedication. Uber has proven that they listen to the community (just hop on over to their forums!). Even after the release of this game they released countless bug fixes and patches. Even with the release of Titans PA:Vanilla gets the performance and balance patches, they haven't abandoned it. In the end Uber has done the best they can with what they've got and IMHO they have been doing a great job, despite the roudy crowd who feels like each individual is the publisher for Uber and thus deserves a bit more.
