I'm less than half-way through this game (beginning of chapter 7 at the time of writing) and I'm taking my sweet time as I try to 100% it. It is genuinely a masterpiece. I've not been this taken in by a single-player story game in years.

The story is incredible so far. Yes parts of it are cliche, yes parts are ridiculous, but that is part of what makes the game amazing. I love when a game makes me care, and this one does. You're split between Kiryu and Majima's stories as you go back and forth, which is something games and narratives in general struggle to do, but it works. I get engrossed in both stories so fully and beautifully.

The sub-stories are amusing, funny, emotional, zany, and original. The depth of the side-content is unparalleled. You could genuinely spend hundreds of hours in this game, and not run out of things to do.

It is unbelievable the scope of this game. You can learn Mahjong, or Shogi. Play darts, or pool. You can get frustrated at old arcade games, or dance to disco beats. You can sing karaoke or pick-up a date at the telephone club. You can bat a home-run (or miss it completely). Or you can simply indulge in virtual tourism as you explore Kamurocho (or Sotenbori) which are based on irl Japanese locations.

There's so much more I haven't covered, because I want to leave more for you to explore, and because there's simply too much to cover. But I promise this game is 100% worth it, even if you JUST play the main story, but you will be missing out on so much more.
