Fantastic melodeath album, it has been roaring in my playlist ever since and it is genuinely one of the contenders for 22's best albums. Every vocalist brings in a little bit of their signature sound from their respective bands, allowing each track on this album to remain distinct from one another, never falling to repetition and just providing a great, banging listen throughout.

Track Listing:

1 - The Hellsinger

The intro instrumental with a simple progression and melody to start the album off. It works great and sets the tone for the music to follow.

2/3/4 - Through You / This is The End / Blood and Law ft. Mikael Stanne (Dark Tranquility)

It seemed like Stanne was planned to be the primary vocalist for the album until the devs managed to snag more guests. Through You starts off with a slow beat, and given that it is the tutorial song, it allows for the player to be accustomed to the game's systems and establish the sound of the album. This is The End immediately picks up the pace and here we hear the demonic sound of the music begin to take shape. The beat is steady, but ripping, especially as you wade through demons in-game, but on an external listen, it hits hard just as well. The true highlight for me personally though is the absolute scorcher Blood and Law . The song's structure is fantastic, with buildups, relentless mid-tempo beats, solos, a catchy chorus, and a somber bridge to tie it all together. This song embodies the true essence of this album.

5 - Stygia ft. Alissa White-Gluz (Arch Enemy)

Did I mention a catchy chorus? Alissa contrasts her iconic harsh vocals with some incredible clean singing. Vocals in the game only unlock at the 16x multiplier, so if a better incentive to play better to hear her angelic voice is not enough for you, I don't know what is.

6 - Burial at Night ft. Tatiana Shmayluk (Jinjer)

Another female vocalist with the possession of both the voice of an angel and the devil. If you are familiar with Jinjer, you can definitely feel their influence here.

7 - This Devastation ft. Matt Heafy (Trivium)

This track has so many shades of Trivium in it you'd swear Matt wrote this song with the band himself.

8 - Poetry of Cinder ft. James Dorton (Black Crown Initiate)

Probably the heaviest track due to the sheer gutterals that James provides. The keyboard provides a really cool sinister sound throughout.

9 - Dissolution ft. Bjorn Strid (Soilwork)

When I said catchy chorus I actually meant this track, it has such a energetic vibe to its writing and when the chorus hits it is physically impossible to not sing along to the Yeahhhaaaahhhhh!!

10 - Acheron ft. Randy Blythe (Lamb of God)

A powerful mid-tempo banger with quite poignant and poetic lyrics full of fantastical imagery.

11 - Silent No More ft. Dennis Lyxzen (Refused)

Absolute punk energy radiates from this song especially given Dennis's presence. Just a great, fun song overall.

12 - No Tomorrow ft. Serj Tankian (System of a Down)

And finally to close off we have the man himself. Serj's iconic voice is heard instantly and whoever persuaded him to scream again, truly has performed a miracle. The best part of the track however has to be when he closes off the album with the recurring melody from the start of the album in The Hellsinger.

This album should truly be in every metalhead's catalog no matter which sub-genre you prefer.
