If you think a one-button game is overly simplistic, you've never been more wrong in your life.

Firstly, the amount of effort, personality and creativity that is crammed into this one game is mindblowing. From crafting each stunning level to manipulating previously learned techniques in new marvelous ways, Rhythm Doctor distinctly showcases the passion and zeal of its creators. For people of culture, just imagine Rhythm Heaven on steroids.

The pixel art is amazing and is so positively overloaded with striking visual effects. You'll be in for a blast when level 2-X comes along. Not to mention the killer soundtrack, with my favourites being the jazzy coffee pieces and downtempo music. "Wish I could care less" is a relatable mood, and "All the times" has a slow tempo yet peppered with sick rhythm switchups that will leave you with chills. Literal chills.

And then there's the unexpected arresting character development. Who knew that a rhythm game could have such charming lovable characters and poignant story. Simply seeing how every character, each with their own form of rhythmic motif, grows and interacts with everyone else can evoke such pleasant and heartwarming feelings.

This is absolutely Game of the Year worthy and possibly one of the best games I've ever played. The amount of effort and polish the creators have put in definitely shows and I can't wait to see how this game, with the help of the community, would grow and develop in the future.
