Some things that are really great about the game:

1. Faction-specific Civics makes the civic tech-tree feel more unique than having the same options
2. Combat actually feels a lot more interesting with Commanders, and having a faction-specific unit or two helps the game feel better than previous games where your unique unit wouldn't be relevant most of the time.
3. Art Style and music is amazing

I don't usually review games, but I have to say that this is worth the hype.
