Perhaps one of my most favourite games, sure it could use a better tutorial but you'll figure it out.

When I beat Borderlands 2 I replayed the everloving ♥♥♥♥ out of that game, when I beat the Pre-Sequel I immediately uninstalled it. Should there be another odds are I will not be buying it.

I've been a Fallout fan since I first played Fonline so many years ago, since then I've played every one of them that came out, FO4 was the first one that I dislike. To clarify I've always played games at the hardest difficulty and then readjusted if I felt it was too hard.

The Game Itself:

Bugs and not just Radroaches or Bloatfly's

- jumping onto a car has got me stuck inside of it more than once.
- jumping off a compacted car (2-3 foot drop) has killed me more than once.
- building bugs, in particular a certain quests asks you to build 3-4 pieces and glitches out.
- AI pathing is horrible = Following NPCs tend to be suicidal on tall structures.

Quests

- There is no real way of saying no to a quest or side quest short of emptying a clip into someone's head.
- Many quests feel... pointless? I didn't feel any emotional attachment to any of the factions shy of the BoS and that might be more because of familiarity.

Survivor Mode Frustrations

- No fast travel, reminds you how empty the game really is, as the only engagements after the first "clear" are in scripted locations.
- Glitches can ruin your game; Had a level 41 character start the quest to go to the Prydwen, take a nap (because that's the only way to save) only to find out the vertibird left without me, no vertibird at the airport.
- Glitches can ruin your game; My second attempt had a level 60 character glitch out on vertibird ride (because when you have friends, walking is for raiders) the game would crash the computer midflight, reloading the game would reload just before it crashed again.

Overall

I would not recommend this game unless the bugs were sorted out, Bethesda always had buggy/glitchy games but it's the first time where it has caused me to not be able to complete the game.

Note: I'm going back to Skyrim, call me when you fixed placing the Institute related buildings.

Edit Note: whatever happened to slave collars and slaves? Or did they introduce the synths in order to make slavery seem more humane?

20/11/2017 - Most Recent Playtime

After getting to level 14 I entered a glitch where most items couldn't damage me, and I couldn't deal damage with most items. Reloading from a previous save did not correct this. Game is still unplayable.

I had recently finished the main campaign and honestly I'm quite impressed with the game, I like the plot and character development. Gameplay was fun, I've only found one glitch so far which was where I fell through the floor but there was an autosave right before it. I played on Uber mode and the only difficulties I really had was finding weak points on bosses but overall I found it marginal. Gameplay is a bit short with 11 hour to beat the game but I wouldn't mind replaying it and this time reading all the news clips and finding the collectibles.

I've had Grim Dawn for a while now and have played it time and time again and seen it through quite a few versions of itself, the final product is out and I started playing it start to finish, I currently have two mid level characters and I find that I cannot review this game positively because;

The challenge, I usually play most of my games with the highest difficulty settings on because I like the challenge, however in this game the difficulty is always already set for you in the form of enemies autoleveling alongside you, with a min and max level per area. With my two characters I've attempted my own build and that with the use of a guide, both times I have hit a deathwall and find myself unable to progress. There are a few other games that I have played where there is a form of enemy auto leveling and I never enjoyed those games for the simple truth; why bother making me level at all if the progress is but an illusion?

I had been playing this game for a while and always enjoyed it until I saw that there was the community edition, I've always been a fan of playing Iron Man mode (Can't undo your actions IE: if your trooper died because you did something stupid so be it.) However I noticed that the amount of BS in the community edition is ridiculous; I've had the enemy shoot and kill me from inside their spaceship. yes the door was open but there was still a wall seperating, I've grinded one of my guys to have 80 bravery which is really high and still get mind controlled. I've missed 95% shots more then 5% of the time only to have their retaliatory shot kill the trooper hiding behind two rows of cover. Those frustrating moments drive a man crazy, however I still really like this game and recommend it to anyone who wants a challenge and enjoys turn based X-com style games.

Early Access Review
As one of the people I've played this game said about it "It's like that terrible girlfriend you stay with because the sex is awesome"

I'll start off with saying that I've only really played as a German character (currently only American or German) and that I have only been playing for the past month or two. This game can be broken up into two seperate games; the Hero aspect or the General aspect; I've only played the Hero aspect because the General is a serious grind and I started multiple characters I'll explain why in a bit.

Each character has its own set of XP and when appropriate levels are reached can be branched off into Armour (tanks), Fighters (aircraft), Paratroopers, Recon (snipers). One important thing to note is that when you branch off of infantry you cannot use that character as an infantry unit without switching branches (which costs credits), Credits are earned by your soldier pay (XP based) and your battle performance.

From the guys that I game with (important to get in a group if you want to be effective) there was a recent overhaul on the game that favoured the American side of things, don't expect this game to be historically accurate with weapons as there has to be some semblance of balance, and in this reviewers opinion it is near overwhelmingly one sided.

Overall as a free to play game I feel it is one of the best I've found, like all communities there are those who are helpful and those who are not. The tutorial is ♥♥♥♥♥ but that's why there are staged battles (that pay out just as well if not more then actual battles) I'll update the review as I play.

First time I've played a game like this so I'll give you my thoughts on the breakdown;

I feel that while the game is smooth and I haven't run into any real bugs however the learning curve on this game is a difficult one; Even on normal the enemies seem to be overpowered and it makes combat seem undesireable without first coming up with a diplomatic gameplan of where you want to be 1000 turns in the future, which of course first requires some gaming experience.

While I do like the originality in having to know when to pick your battles I feel that its an entirely frustrating experience learning what you can and cannot beat.

Previous to playing this game I did not play any XCOMs in depth, I did however play Xenonauts. Graphically this game is wunderbar, it's addictive and fun, while at the same time able to become a frustrating experience. I started playing the game on normal and found it too easy, so kicking it up a notch I had opted for classic (hard). When playing this game on hard it becomes very very frustrating, the dice rolls are stacked against you, your men can barely hit at 60% meanwhile every shot the enemy does seems to be a hit and a crit. Additionally I have issues with the enemy seeing and shooting through walls, (your men are able to do likewise) Overall I would not recommend this game in favour of Xenonauts, sure the graphics aren't the same but the game play is so much more fun.

When I first bought this game I had 0 expectations and I enjoyed it immensely, I had found the story telling was quite different, reminding me of Borderlands 2: Assault On Dragon's Keep. The game itself is graphically sound, high octane shooting, and I found it to be an overall fun experience. Kudos to Eidos on this one.
