you'd think with a r5 7600, rx 6650xt and 32gb of ram @ 1080p you could get 100+ fps without FSR but I guess we can't have nice things in this world

imo, it is the perfect setting for a Tomb Raider game. however,

Story is kinda lame compared to 2013 and Rise.
Gun play is not really existent compared to the older 2.
Ability tree is real good.
Game looks good but things blend together too well (REALLY ANNOYING WHEN IT COMES TO CLIMBING OR PARKOUR PARTS)
NPCs are half baked and most look the exact same.
Good closure at end of game.

is ok but wouldnt pay full price; buy Rise if you haven't yet - 7/10

TL;DR: 4/5, set HUD to Immersive for best experience, your ears and eyes will love you, the gameplay is great, the story is good - recommend on sale!

Visuals and Soundtrack are Excellent. You are instantly hooked in with the beginning of the game with the visuals. You know ♥♥♥♥♥ about to go down when that Cello starts playing. I never would have thought that a Cello/Violin could create such tension with the way it is played in this game.

The story is good, nothing special like The Last of Us but not as bad as Fallout 76. It is simple and easy to follow until you get to about Chapters 14-16, which is the tail end of the game. The story goes from, “Yeah this all makes sense, let’s do this thing for Hugo!” to, “What the ♥♥♥♥ just happened, none of this makes sense.” There needed to be a few more chapters to explain what happened in these chapters in regards to flashbacks and how characters got to where they were up until Chapters 14-15.

There also is not a lot of backstory given for the side characters that you meet. I wish they were given more of a backstory in the game, but I did not mind this personally. For some, it might seem like these guys are just here for the joy ride though.

The side characters are also more like extra tools in the game, only appearing and helping out Amicia as needed. Nothing wrong with this, but I wish they would serve more of a purpose. They are like an extra gameplay mechanic; speaking of gameplay:

The gameplay is interesting and enjoyable. You can either attack enemies with brute force or you can go the stealth route and take them out one by one. You gain new weapons/utility options as the game progresses, which makes sense. That being said, I didn’t like that the most intense battle happened at the beginning of the game. Specifically, the battle where Amicia kills someone for the first time. The battle makes you think that there will be an amazing end game battle, where you would use all your abilities to defeat the Inquisition/Plague.

In reality, you only need two weapons to kill the final boss. Which is exactly what I did because I forgot about the Dodge feature. Speaking of dodging, the mechanic is useless after the first battle and can be annoying when you want to try and vault onto objects. It’s only real use was during the first battle Amicia fights in.

In the end, I’d give A Plague Tale: Innocence a ⅘. I bought it during the sale and I’d recommend it to someone who is looking at it during a sale. I would also recommend playing the game in “Immersive Mode” like I did for my first play through. You do not really need a HUD for the game and I am glad I played it through without one.

the game is great for the story and the atmosphere, however this game is living proof that the australians are useless and cannot do anything right.

Reasons Why:

*Davis Pickle and literally every other character that has an aussie accent.

*Hit Reg either works amazingly like in Borderlands 2 or is really broken and nothing registers at all.

Please never let 2K Australia touch another Borderlands Game again.
