The game feels very smooth and fluid to play, individual fights feel a lot better than in Smite 1 and the game now has a fairly respectable amount of gods.

The new additions to the game such as the STR/INT system and new item build system feel like improvements over the original and add new ways and playstyles to existing gods. This allows you to play many gods in more roles than in Smite 1 without being accused of trolling.

The new aspect system is also an amazing addition to allow for different playstyles on existing gods.

Now that Smite 2 is out of alpha and in open beta, I can recommend the game. There is still a lot more polish that needs to be done and more gods and content needs to be added but that will come with time. Meanwhile this is probably the best time to jump in if you are a new player.
