Have been playing for 3 years now, MR 25, around 1200+ hours in-game so far and will be increasing, I get the game out of Steam because it had some trouble.
Pretty much got everything in the game, only spent around 20 USD early on for slots in the beginning, grinding for the rest. You can trade things for plat, it's that easy. Buying Platinum is more like supporting the developer than a need.

All of the current and upcoming content updates are FREE.
Every stuff in the game is obtainable except cosmetics, and of course a lot of grind. Or you can just pay to skip the grind.
The fairest Free to Play game out there.
