Final Fantasy XIV is one of the best MMOs I have ever played ad one of the best stories I have ever experienced. Almost every part of this game is amazing, The classes are all unique and can fit almost any flavor you're looking for. Most of the dungeons and raids are fantastic and the soundtrack is unmatched in the genre.

Despite all of that this game is hard for me to 100% recommend due to the barrier of entry that is a little thing called the Main Scenario Quests or MSQ for short. In order to even reach the point where the story becomes excellent requires tens of hours to even reach as a new player will have to play through the MSQ of the base game and each expansion to reach current content, unless the condensing of the MSQ has already occurred when you're reading this in which case the amount of time spent on the MSQ should be dramatically less.

Many of the classes don't feel complete or cohesive until later levels leading to a shallow-ish experience early on.

Overall I would say if you are looking for a slow burn MMO with a great story and are willing to take your time to enjoy the story I would highly recommend this game
