Hello?

Hi, I'm Bub! I've been around for quite a while. I’ve gone by many names throughout my time online, but I've fully take up Bub8ske as my online alias. Though, occasionally change it to characters I kin sometimes. You probably found this account from VRC, or, better yet, might've even found me from Twitch! Yes, I've taken up streaming after pretty much just abandoning Youtube ( for the most part ). However, you might now be wondering why I'm not as active on either. To tell you the truth... uh... I'm a bit lazy. And um, college to. PLUH!!!

Exactly what games do I play?

I STILL LOVE HORROR GAMES. GIVE ME MORE VR ONES THOUGH!! Other than that, I’m still pretty all over the place with the things I enjoy. Games with narrated stories tied into them, wacky do whatever you want to do games, VR Sandbox games. The list goes on. However, I also just enjoy just hanging out with my friends, so you’ll likely see me online in multiplayer games the most, like the occasional VRC session, as that's the MAIN POINT of that game. Also, if you see me anywhere online, don't be afraid to say hi!

What's up with your channel?

It's GONE! DEAD! I KILLED IT OFF! Not true, I'm actually just extremely burnt out from content creation, and that burn out has been sticking around for a WHILE. I stream though, as I mentioned before! Hopefully I'll start streaming more during the winter break.

Do you draw your thumbnails?

This one is a bit outdated, BUT ANY THUMBNAILS YOU SEE THAT AREN'T JUST GAME SCREENSHOTS ARE EITHER DONE BY ME, OR BY MY BROTHER.

How are you feeling?

Pretty alright, actually. College sucks, but I'd rather have something to do as a job rather than leech off others. Though, hey, maybe I get lucky and hit it big out there with streaming or whatnot. Find myself an audience, who knows! Either way, I'm still so extremely grateful for the people I have now. Would have never made it this far without you guys. You know who you are. PLUH!!!

It's been a while since a game left me feeling things like this one did. Played it to the end for a stream, and I enjoyed every second of it. From the voice acting, to the visuals, and just the concept alone. I can't recall many games that take place out in the middle of the ocean on an oil rig, but this one did it extremely well. Everything felt so alive in this world. I can't expect much else out of this story, like a sequel or DLC, as my mind goes blank in possible ways to continue after the ending, but I do hope to see another story rich horror game put out in the future! Right on!

Just got finished streaming Siren's Rest, so I'm here while everything is still fresh in my head. I'll start off with saying, I'm mixed on this DLC. It wasn't good, but it wasn't bad either. Being about 1/3 of the original game's price, I have to say I did expect a bit more with this continuation of such an amazingly crafted story and experience. But upon diving into this myself, no pun intended, I was left somewhat disappointed. Spoilers below.

It's short. Took me about 2 hours, simply because I was trying to search every nook and cranny I could find. That should say a lot. If you didn't care to search where you weren't supposed to, but rather just to find extra little details or secrets, you could probably beat this DLC in about an hour. That says a lot, considering the $13 dollar price tag attached.

Gameplay wise? There was about 2-3 chases or rush segments that I can remember, with only one real monster encounter, that was cut pretty short. Design wise? Terrifying, if you're spooked by lovecraftian type creatures. But really, that's all there is that's there for the fear factor, aside from maybe the fear of drowning or being underwater. Everything else is simply just: explore, cut or crack over a few passages, explore a bit more, pick up some little items, talk to Rob about some stuff, flee because you're running low on oxygen ( happens when Mhairi has to cut herself off from the umbilical cord ).

Story wise? It didn't have that impact the first game had, but that's understandable, for being as short as it was. But then again, I still didn't take much out of it afterwards. If it was a bit longer, maybe I'd have better things to say about it, but there really wasn't much. There's two endings, one being where you let go of your father's ( Brodie's ) hand, the one you were apparently searching for from the start to find closure, where Mhairi would then be pulled back out into the ocean where we see Rob saving her from drowning. That's the ending I got. The other ending is NOT letting go, and supposedly diving down into the water with your "father", which I would assume means Mhairi ends up drowning. Doesn't seem like something the real spirit or soul of Brodie would do.

Bug wise? I had a few, nothing that bad. Felt like a few things weren't loading in during cutscenes, or during the gameplay. Some invisible walls here and there. Didn't entirely ruin my experience, but definitely made me feel like I was missing out on some cool things the DEVs had put in.

Would I recommend this game? I wish there was a "On The Fence" option. Something neutral. I would NOT recommend buying this DLC with the full $13 dollar price tag. Maybe wait for a bigger sale, or wait for the price to be dropped to something lower. Until then, I have to sadly "No".

Despite how much I loved the original, I can't recommend this to anyone who loved the original story at the price it is at now, considering how short the game is. If the base price is ever lowered, I'll change my mind. But until then, I'd sadly watch someone else play through this game. I wish the best to the dev team and their future projects. Sometimes things don't land the way you hope, but don't let that cause you to give up trying! I'm excited for whatever comes next!
