This is mostly gonna be rambling as im mentally drained only after 6 hours of EoF.

I just don't know what is is about this expansion but something feels off. It's definitely not as bad as lightfall but it doesn't really do anything that gives me that wow factor like WQ or tFS. I'm only half way though the legendary campaign and as much as i enjoy the new location, it just feels empty. I was originally planning to play it on legendary with friends as legenday in previous expansions had always been at least somewhat difficult and fun. So far in EoF it has been unnaturally easy, to the point where i've first tried majority of all darkness zone encounters.

EoF has this weird gimmick of forcing the arc ball in basically every bods fight to the point where it feels unnatural and boring. A lot of the boss encounters consist of the easiest to fight enemy ever while the actual hard part is the adds and having to be a slow arc ball.

The arc ball is really gross to use, you interact woth it and have to purposelly not move afterwards or the camera will freak out tryna force you to face where you interacted rather than where you're aiming. I've had ot done three while 360s in like half a second while in first person and it's genuinely throw up inducing to look at.

I'm tryna give this an honest impression, unbiased but i feel bored playing it. I honestly wanna go back to yesterday as playing Nether Expert or even explore mode dungeons on repeat was more fun than EoF's legenday campaign.

The story i like, krplar is visually nice to look at though the secrets really aren't secrets and there's a lot of pointless areas you can go as the arc ball that lead to nothing and should be where chests should be instead of just right imfront of you as you do the quests.

I feel like keplar could use a matchmade mode where you can obv do the ingame quests and missions but in quest mode the world acts like a patrol zone and theres random players and events, cause currently keplar is a ghost toen similar to pale heart but at least palr heart had overthrows which could cause randoms to appear.

I'm not gonna comment on tje player portal or the changes they made to the base game but for the most part, not really a fan, its actually annoying that while in the tower or keplar, you cannot oprn the director to look at the og destinations. All im gonna say is the ui changes and the stuff that's free has made me worry about destiny w's future, especially that i used to not care in the past. I hope to continue playing the game though i guess i was too late.

I don't like action or MMO games, my comparison to the souls-like was based on the UI and combat of the game reminding me of those games, however due to how clunky the game is to play on mouse and keyboard, it felt like a terrible imitation of better games. I don't care if it's a bad comparison as this is just how I felt and it's subjective.

So to start, I didn't have any context that this game was a port, so I was genuinely confused why half of the keys on the right side of my keyboard, I couldn't use to rebind controls I wasn't a fan of. Now knowing this, I still don't get how they didn't manage to allow all keys to be rebinded. I can rebind mouse 4 and 5 but can't rebind [ or ], like what is this nonsense?

Starting the game I'm greeted by the handler. Might just be a me thing but my god she is annoying and loves to repeat dialogue over and over again. I had her repeat "OVER HERE" 10 times in a row while fiddling with settings ingame, weird this game in singleplayer doesn't pause the game.

This game gave me a headache. So this game has dynamic sound, that's cool, what isn't cool is high pitched noises. For whatever reason certain menu sliders and the waypoints from the fireflies make this obnoxious high pitched noise that everytime I heard it, hurt my ears and there wasn't anyway for me to remove these sounds unless I wanted to play with the sound off.

Game is buggy. I entered the combat tutorial and after screwing around with the clunky melee combat, I decided to try my ranged weapon that I forgot the name of. I ran out of ammo and it told me to go up to the Palico or the mounds, the waypoint was weird, and to sheath my weapon to interact. However whenever I sheathed, the game automatically took my ranged weapon out, and wouldn't let me holster, stopping me from being able to interact. So you can imagine me, being utterly confused on what I'm doing wrong just to find out the game was bugging out. Luckily pressing ESC then sheathing my weapon fixed it, but how this is a bug that you can experience in the tutorial is beyond me.

Another thing to note is the strange binding, obviously I skipped the tutorial popups as I think tutorials that are WORDSWORDSWORDS that pause the game to explain stuff are objectively the worst kinds of tutorial but the keybind for attacks are so strange. I have to hold mouse 4 to charge then click LMB? Why not have me hold mouse 3 or right click instead? Mouse 3 is closer to the back of the mouse where my thumb is and right click is a no brainer and takes less effort to hold down due to my small hands. Then theres default right click which doesn't do anything unless you are holding mouse 4 and it consumes the charge. Again I didn't read the WORDSWORDSWORDS popup tutorial and movie so I had 0 clue what hold/ consume charge even did or why I would use it when holding mouse 4 to charge my melee made me do more damage. I assume maybe it did nothing cause of the type of melee I had, but I think the game would've been better if tutorials were part of the game world and would teach you as you played, rather than dumping and overloading you with infornation that pauses the game where it's really hard to take in what you're supposed to do. I can admit it's my fault for not wanting to sit through a bad tutorial, but it's a bad tutorial and the game made 0 effort to have any reminders or hints after closing the popup in the game world case which is such a shame.

Due to me not enjoying MMO games, like WoW, I can't really get into the gameplay loop of meeting a quota. Kill X enemy or gather X material, I find incredibly boring, and due to the fact the game early on makes both you and the enemy damage sponges, I both felt like I was under 0 threat while feeling like I was too under levelled for just the first quest.

Speaking of the combat, what the hell is the purpose of my Palico? Like I get he has armour but he doesn't seem to do anything, maybe in the CTRL + middleclick menu there's some way to get him to do something, but I swear I've seen my palico get knocked over more than him actually swinging his shovel. I've accidentally slammed my hammer into his face more than he has done total damage to enemies, maybe I'm not observant, but the Palico really serves 0 purpose in the early game. It's not like any of the enemies do any substantial damage to me when the game healed me without me using a healing potion when I only lost a quarter of my HP at most. This game genuinely confuses me, I get it's one of those games where the early game absolutely sucks but gets better over time but this just isn't my thing. I gave it an unbiased chance but it wasn't for me.

Lastly, what the hell is with the multiplayer in this game? Why the hell does everyone have to launch quests individually to watch the cutscene, then exit out back to camp, then be able to play together??? I bought this game to play with friends, and after dealing with that it's like, why should I bother playing something that the devs clearly didn't care about in this port?

If you like these kind of games and are fine with sloggish early game, go ahead and buy MHW. But personally with my subjective opinions, this isn't my type of game.

I would recommend this game but the timing is just too suspicious for me to enjoy it. I was playing Endless Days as I had just got done playing After Midnight which was fun and The Island Mystery which I think I soft locked, not sure, it didn't seem to progress after getting a key. Anyways I was playing Endless Days and it was entertaining and spooky and then randomly after lightning stroke in game, my internet died, and no matter what I did, it wouldn't come back and it only affected my PC. My internet was down for about 4 hours straight and I was forced to use a PC backup and lose a bunch of files on my PC due this happening, which thankfully fixed my internet. I can't prove that this game has malicious code in it that screws with your internet, rendering it useless, but I'd rather not relaunch the game to give it a 2nd chance after that happening cause I don't want to risk having it happen again just to experience what this game has to offer.

If the devs of this game or someone more daring than me see this, maybe check Endless Days when you play as the 2nd guy who comes to the island and see if somewhere around when Lighting strikes ingame if your internet just dies and doesn't come back naturally what so ever.

boring and clunky, game suffers from lack of team recognition, the fact i'm punished for my vision that i have 0 control over by having to try and see hard to see red outlines on enemies instead of forced team colours is an instant turn off for me. game also has maps that are incredibly vibrant and hard to look at, one of the maps genuinely hurt my eyes and i don't even suffer from photo sensitivity.

I completely understand why there's issues and i'm willing to try BiB with an open mind once DLC entitlements are fixed.
