A great unique hidden gem of space capital ships vs alien swarm mechanics. Ship systems get destroyed and sheared off just like you'd hope. Neat story, I hope they make a sequel someday.

Puzzle design reminds me of Pez in a good way. Great exploration metroidvania design except for a few details:
- You have to collect every...single...coin in each area to proceed which isn't fun if you can't figure out the trick for the last one.
- The grid nature of the map makes it hard to tell where the connections between areas is.
- Backtracking can be tedious at time because there are not enough shortcuts and the map is frequently unclear about the route.

This appears to be a bad port of the mobile game Dungeon X Legend. I was willing to give it a shot based on it being a non-grim-dark-souls metroidvania but it is just not worth it. I'm returning this. Yuck!
Tutorial still refers to touching buttons on the screen to use them. Start and Back buttons do not work on the controller at all. Had to manually start the game with the mouse and then switch to controller.
Movement is basic. Platforming requires precision that the level design just doesn't allow for. I was frequently hitting my head on the poorly placed roof and then plunging straight down. Or getting stun locked by enemies that respawn the second they are off the screen.
Combat is basic. Your sword attacks look like the same repetitive three frames of swing animation.
There seems to be a poorly translated story here but this gameplay needs a lot of work to even consider playing thru.

This feels like the real Jagged Alliance 3. Your mercs' personalities are even more important to the gameplay and story than in Jagged Alliance 2. Your mercs speak up during dialog tree interactions and things can go wildly off topic based on the mercs you have. It's great!
There are few downsides that feel like rough edges on an otherwise pretty dead-on experience. I really hope these can be addressed in future patches:
- No "internet" store in the game (unlike JA2). This makes ammo very rare. It is an interesting challenge but it feels weird that you never have enough ammo and can't buy more.
- No way to pause and direct the action while out of combat. As a result your mercs are unprepared and out of position for every combat encounter. Stealth kills are effectively impossible.

Good combat system with lots of moves and systems.
Enjoying the story so far. It feels era appropriate.
The graphics are very SNES thru-and-thru and look great. On the downside, the screen is very busy and it can sometimes be hard to see what is important on the screen.

This game is a good spin on the Splunky formula. It is more approachable. it is still difficult, but mistakes result in lost health rather than instant death.
On the downside, when playing solo you have to literally drag/carry your AI partner thru the levels. I wish there was an option to simply not have the other player in solo runs.

EDIT 2-3-23: The 12-20-23 patch added a mode where you can play solo and without the AI partner. Wooh hoo!

Wow, this is a big metroidvania.

EDIT: While I had a good time for the most part, the end sequence is too hard. After collecting all the gems, the resulting boss fight and dungeondeal way too much damage even with maxed out armor.

Smooth and fast paced. The writing is fun. I like that the game saves your progress at any point during a run.
