this game just disintegrated me, and I loved every second of it.

buy it if you're a fan of story based game and let it destroy you.

buy it even if you are not a fan of this kinda game, and let it convert you (and also destroy you).

this game will stay in my memories for a long time. A true gem.
10/10 hella would disintegrate again.

As a child I remember playing Resident Evil 3 and encounter nemesis for first time, the dread I felt back then almost as intense as the first village stage in Resident Evil 4 after the chainsaw dude hunting for my head. While the 5th installment are a delight to play but with a few flaws here and there. 6th was 'okay'.

Then along came the revelations. As the name suggest, it was almost like a capcom had a revelation making this.

Revelation 2 despite a not-so-big budgeted like the 6th, delivers a solid survival horror experience.
The graphics are great, at least for me compared to 6th (5th being the best-looking visuals for me). The enemies look very detailed and terrifying, not to mention disturbing. The details on the character is also well done, the animations still lacks a bit but didn't bother me that much.
The sounds are well done, you can hear the breathing of the enemies (didn't know zombie had to breathe) makes you cautious and gives the game the atmosphere it needed.

and then we got the character mechanics. while the 5th and 6th had a partner that can also carries gun and deals significant damage to the enemies, Revelation 2 brush that off and leave the partner as a support. They didn't carry a gun, but they had their own mechanic such as focusing flashlights to blind the enemies and make them vulnerable, and even sense their 'presence' or locate their weaknesses and points you where to shoot. I won't spoil who are able to do that , you'd just have to find out yourself in the game (trust me, it's more enjoyable that way). Also you can switch characters if you're playing alone.

Now, I played the hardest difficulty from the start, and I must admit after few deaths I started to think I bit more than I can chew. But, after understanding the controls, and the mechanic of the characters can do to dispose the enemies, it was a blast to play. Ammo and healing items are scarce, and when you do find more, it almost felt like a blessing.

Ofcourse, you cannot leave the flaws that this game had. The keyboard controls a little bit confusing, it takes time to get used too.
There's framerate drop here and there, I heard it was worse the day this game launched. Now it has been patched and mostly stable.

As Resident Evil fan, this title is very recommended to add to your collections, at the very least try episode 1.
As a game overall, this is a satisfying survival horror experience. (and multiple endings! yay!)

8/10
