Interesting enough for a free game, although the walking speed is far too slow. Check it out if you are a fan of VtM, otherwise it's nothing exceptionally special.

As a non-40K fan (I know next to nothing about the lore/setting): This game isn't *terrible*. But, it's pretty basic/typical as far as VR FPS's go. It feels like it might've come out 2-3 years ago in terms of mechanics and complexity, campaign length, and gameplay variety. Visually it's not super-spectacular (was ported over from Quest 2 after all) but not too bad actually, and it ran quite all right on my system. Overall, there's lots of room for improvement (perhaps for the developers' next title).

However, all in all, I think it's a fairly expected level of production quality for the price point and being developed by what I assume to be a relatively small dev team. I had quite a bit of fun playing through the 3.5h - 4h long campaign (not long at all, but perhaps better off not going on for much longer).

Some thoughts/suggestions for devs, and to set expectations for considering purchasers:

1. AI feels a bit too basic, especially for the enemies. They focus too much on the player unless they have no line of sight. More often than not they'll charge right through the AI teammates just to gun us down, which comes off a bit awkward. They also fairly simply run towards the player or stand still to shoot, never seeming to seek cover. The Space Marines' pinpoint accuracy makes slowly peeking out of cover quite unfavourable against them.
2. I was expecting the game's story to go on for a bit longer, but maybe it's better off not to drag on for too long given that we've seen all the weapons and have been fighting the same enemies for quite awhile by the end. The story does feel like it could do with a second epilogue/conclusion cutscene though for better closure.
3. As other reviewers have mentioned, it would be excellent if the weapon felt more weighty and had stronger recoil - but personally I didn't feel it was too off-putting if I consider the game more of an arcade shooter.
4. Please-please-please provide better support for shorter players! The minimum height seems to not be sufficiently low for me (I don't know how tall I am in real life to compare with though, strange as it may be). Also, being short in real life seems to also make the player character just as short - making it quite awkward being such a tiny Sister of Battle. Perhaps provide an option for an actual height offset (a la Boneworks?) as the current one seems to only be making my knees bend more or less.
5. That's all in mind at this time. Thank you for bringing the game to PC VR. I was really hoping to be able to play it on my Rift S.

Early Access Review
Has a decent framework to build upon (weapons especially), but there are too many janky parts and horrible AI. It's just too mediocre and at many points below average. Probably better to spend the time and effort playing other games. However, if you can get this for free or at a massive discount, it might be worth trying out.

It's more SUPER HOT action that's familiar, although this game drags on for way longer to the point that the game feels somewhat repetitive.

Souls-like with guns. Some pretty annoying bosses and segments, but otherwise quite alright and reasonably fun & interesting. I enjoyed my time.

Jank at every turn (even with the Unofficial Patch) and plenty of unfinished-feeling content, but decent vampire RPGs are few and far between - and this one still has its qualities and enjoyment.

Not bad for playing casually, perhaps still currently lacking in variety, polish, and balance to be worth the full time+effort investment. Coming from Apex Legends, this game was better than I'd expected (in terms of gunplay and movement). If you do try this game, bear in mind it's running Easy Anti Cheat which is notoriously weak in hacker deterrence - so expect to run into at least one every few games - primarily on the Asian server(s). Bring your friends.

For fans of The Elder Scrolls world and lore (like myself), this game is a feast with a countless amounts of sights to so and tidbits to learn. However, the gameplay and combat while not wholly number keys action bar oriented (like the more traditional MMOs a la WoW and FFXIV), still isn't immensely exciting. If you're not overly invested in TES, you'd probably want to give a free trial a go first and see if the gameplay is enjoyable.

If you'd like to play TES Online like a single-player game, it'll be somewhat manageable. As a solo player, I've not had a hard time at all doing all the main story content alone. For group stuff (mainly the 4 player dungeons), the Group Finder is finicky but passable.

It's a huge appeal for me personally that the game has no monthly subscription fee. Although without the premium subscription benefit of the material storage bag (and double bank storage), your pockets can get stuffed REALLY fast.

In short: If you're keen on the game being of The Elder Scrolls series but are unsure if you'd like the gameplay - wait for one of the free trials that they do run periodically. Or get the base game when it goes on the usual -75% sale.

(NOTE: I have about ~1000+ hours more on the non-Steam version.)

Only now, about 6 months after release, can I properly recommend this game, primarily because of the progression loss (money & weapons) bug that was absurdly prevalent before. There are still best-practice recommendations (i.e. do not get pulled into a match or exit the game while in the armory), but I've not had any of weapons and money loss so far with the latest patch - and I'm feeling somewhat more confident now. The new QoL and balance changes are also a welcome addition. It's a pretty fun and "L4D in VR" game now, recommend fans of the genre to give this a go for sure.
