This is a good game, but Ubisoft Connect is a CANCER. I just had my couch play experience ruined by having to go and input again a password I HAD ALREADY ENTERED BEFORE. I used the Steam keyboard think with PS button + square, but then it asked me to access my email to get a 2FA code. Why the ♥♥♥♥ is Ubisoft actively ruining the experience of games on PC? This really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ aggravates me because I had only so many minutes to play before going out somewhere, and I have to deal with this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. ♥♥♥♥ Ubisoft, I hope they finally go bankrupt this year after finally canceling AC Samurai or whatever the hell they're calling that stupid game.

I think it undermines Valve's own credibility as a company to let other companies release games in their storefront that require third-party accounts in order for the games to be accessible.

Valve should completely and permanently ban games that require third-party accounts and any kind of launchers that block access to games you bought on their storefront. If I bought a game from Valve, it's between me and Valve. Games that do require some kind of account should use my Steam account through Steam's APIs, and nothing else. Anything even slightly deviating from this is unacceptable and a cancer to consumers that will eventually kill the video games industry.

Does not work correctly with DualSense on Linux. Apparently the game tries to grab inputs from the controller and maps them wrong, even if you have Steam Input turned on. There is issue #8217 on the steam-for-linux GitHub regarding this bug dating back to 2021, and STILL the developers haven't fixed it.

I'm afraid it's been... nine years.

MGSV is not quite representative of the rest of the series, but it's arguably THE best stealth game of all time.

I have 82 hours here on Steam at the time of this review, but I've 500 hours more on PS3 alone. This game is just so satisfying to play.

Had wanted to play this remake of the only good Mafia since when it was announced, but it's unplayable on PC with absolutely terrible controller support. I had to switch the layout on Steam input to get the game to respond to my PS5 controller, but even then the button prompts showed some square icons instead of even Xbox icons, resulting in a moment where I died because I didn't know the button to press to escape some NPCs chasing me. Unfortunately the game is at an unacceptable state and I'm not about to waste precious time troubleshooting what should've been working out of the box.

This game nails the vibes, but there are a few unacceptable problems that make a purchase hard to recommend even on sale:

- the controller support is abysmal, no matter if you use an Xbox controller or a DualSense controller you will still get keyboard glyphs for things, good luck understanding those; and normal functions just don't work right, B or circle don't return on menus sometimes and sometimes does.
- the game requires external activation through EA's service; in my opinion, Valve should ban from Steam all games that require some kind of launcher or external activation. Want to shove your launcher down player's throats? Go sell your games elsewhere, you're not welcome here. I already purchased the game on Steam, Steam has provided me a license, and Steam also provides APIs for you to use to get user profiles and use in online services.

All human history led to this point. It all culminates here. Elden Ring is the crowning achievement of humanity as a whole.

(Though not the culmination of software development, with all the frame pacing issues and whatnot)

The expansion is truly beautiful, but it has worse performance than the base game, and has made the entire game's load times AWFULLY long. Game developers really should optimize for convenience aspects of games such as load times and install sizes. While FromSoftware really aces the latter, significantly increasing load times is unacceptable. The worst thing is once your save has been "contaminated" with the DLC you can't go back and uninstall it.

Also, it still doesn't have the option to use PlayStation button icons in the year 2024 of our lord Jesus Christ, and if you mod them into the game you might get banned from online services.

Admirable of Sony to listen to players. Requiring external accounts should be banned from Steam.

I love the original tank controls, but one thing missing in Tomb Raider 2 (the one I mainly played back in the day and still do on my PS3) is how you had two buttons for precise walking: R1 would allow you to walk forward/backward and use the left and right directions to rotate and walk, and R2 would allow you to either walk forward/backward or strafe left/right.

The thing they've done here in this remaster is put those functions in a single button, namely R1: to walk and rotate, you must first take a step forward, and then start turning. If you simply press left while holding R1, you will start strafing, as if you were holding R2 back in the PS1.

This is counter to my muscle memory from the PS1, where I could both walk forward and rotate while still holding R1. In this new version, I must let go of R1 if I want to rotate in place, which is weird and confusing, and creates the risk of Lara starting to run forward if I'm using the analog stick instead of the d-pad.

Another thing that is missing is the ability to use PlayStation button icons. Frankly, it is unacceptable for games to be releasing in 2024 without this option.

I wish the developers would fix these issues before my refund window closes, because I really want to play these games.

In most other regards, this is a beautiful port.
