The shipbuilder allows for detailed and functional ships with large creativity, without being too complex of a freeform builder. There are more than enough drag and drop options to feel like you are still doing something yourself.
In my opinion, the shipbuilding itself makes the game worth the money, and the naval academy has surprisingly many missions giving you an incentive to design ships of many different types and eras.
The campaign works, and is somewhat fun, but lacks a lot of quality of life features. The main focus of the game is design of the ships and the combat, and not the strategy or fleet movement.
Fleet composition is also difficult to rate well. You are compelled to stick to capital ships only, without any screens, because the screening AI is very stupid, and torpedoes from destroyers often hit friendly ships instead of enemies.
Battleship vs Battleships or cruisers is very fun, though.

Greatest narrative game of all time.
It is fun to play and the writing is hilarious. The different personalities and traits you develop with your character adds a lot of replayability, even for a person like myself who rarely wants to see the same thing twice. In this game you want to reload saves just to see all the dialog branches. The world has in-depth lore with characters that have all the realism and flaws (or a lot of flaws, depending on how you play) of the real world. It uses the mundane and not-so-nice parts of real life, to bring immersion and satire to the game. You can choose to meditate on things like "indirect taxation" or have a physiognomy debate with a racial supremacist guard.

Only managed to start the game once. Otherwise it only launches as a background process, with no way to play it!

To start off with: This game is not revolutionary. This game is buggy. This game does not feel completely finished.
But i can still recommend it.
For this game i did not expect it to be revolutionary, I expected it to be an improved warband. And it really is. It has all the gameplay mechanics fitted in well. Combat feels better. Personal relations feel better, people feel somewhat more like people. Not to say the graphics are great. The AI is a huge improvement. The clan system is great.
It's not 10/10. It's not a buggy mess.
It is a great game.
