The toilet ban is a measure that is internationally recognized as torture, including by Amnesty International.

The prisoner, interrogator, suspect or punished person is forbidden to use the toilet, which after a while leads to the fact that he can no longer suppress his need.

This form of torture is mainly used for humiliation and degradation and is sometimes even used before or during an interrogation. Often those punished in this way have to strip partially or completely naked.

For example, in Argentina in the early 2000s, prisoners were banned from using the toilet after a riot was put down in the prison there.
