Ori绝对是一个好游戏,从手感到玩法,从收集要素到关卡设计,从美术风格到剧本,无一不是顶尖的
不过我有一个很奇怪的习惯
一个游戏,尤其是好游戏;打到一半,感觉接下来剧情不对就会去云
云的差不多了如果剧情确实像一刀扎在胸口上,就不会接着玩了
Ori也一样。说我自欺欺人也好啊Q精神也好
在我这里,他们也许走出了森林,飞回了家乡;也许一起经历千辛万苦,打败了令人畏惧的敌人。
至少在我这里,他们不再分开,也未有一个不良好的结局

Destiny, and Bungie, is on a path of inevitable self destruction.

The Tl;Dr: Bungie doesn't know where they are heading, fails to produce actual new content with different cores and the disconnection between developers and players sometimes is extreme.

Seasonal Content

Before anyone saying, this game actually got good content -- yes it has. In current season ( Season of Plunder on the date of comment), it got a six men activity. A decent amount of world loot. A couple additions to nightfall, strike, gambit and crucible loot. And one reprised raid, which was not half bad.

The issue emerges when this has been the trend. Since shadowkeep (a couple of seasons in the beginning was slightly different) this seasonal model has been kept. And that was three years ago. Everything from drip fed story to the seasonal activity is nothing else but boring. It can be fun at first or even a few seasons. Afterwards? Probably not.

The season system can be only useful if the game itself keeps it fresh all the time. Two examples in this industry will be Apex Legends and Fortnite, Wait, aren't those all battle royale games? Yes. The reason they are successful is the game itself will continuously providing new content -- every single gunfight would be different. Every place you land you will get different guns, etc.

Looking back at Destiny, this is highly different. The vast majority of the gameplay are pve, which is repetitive -- even across seasons, since the core are always the same. I can't give a solution, and I believe anything in my mind Bungie has thought about it -- but they won't work. What we know is, current way is not the way.

SOFT SUNSET

Wait, I thought they got rid of sunset! They did, but they pulled off something else. One new example will be origin trait -- an extra perk based on origin of weapon. The problem arises when it is not retroactive -- and all guns prior is pretty much has one less perk.

What's worse, players sometimes needs to grind the exact same gun again. Dares of eternity or the upcoming Deep Stone Crypt, has their guns UPDATED to be craftable, which renders their old versions suboptimal. Can you use the old ones? Yes. But they are not good as the newer ones.

After PVE, lets talk about PVP


What kept me playing in the couple seasons before is pvp. I don't grind that much comparing to a lot of people. I often don't max out my light level. I skip raid weekly resets. PVP is much more engaging in my opinion, and with the perfect gunplay, it is simply great.

Until this season, at least. It wasn't a perfect game before and it was on a trend to become worse and worse. The following will be a rant on what they have done specifically to make PVP unenjoyable, and please skip to next paragraph if you find it boring.

[RANT START]
Couple seasons ago, bungie removed hot swapping, which is an trick to cancel the animation on swapping guns. It origins as a pvp high-level trick but was utilized in pve a lot, which eventually got it nerfed. Was anybody asking for it? Probably not. Was it justified? A bit. But there is more to come. Later, Bungie applied a penalty on sliding, making you receive more flinch and decreasing stability, whilst shotguns will also get a spread penalty. This comes to the part where neither community has asked or was justified. Sliding is a crucial part of the gameplay in PVP, but now its a punishable action. Wait! There's more. In Air Accuracy system was deployed last season, and it was one of the worst things anyone can done to this game. Your gun no longer shoots straight when you are in the air -- think about it. Imagine you play overwatch and your bullets starts to drift away in air. It makes no sense and is completely pure nonsense. Annnd there's more. After getting rid of engaging in a combat sliding and jumping, they now nuked entering combat altogether. With the coming of void 3.0, the ability spam in PVP is unbearable, especially after they announced they will focus on the gunplay. What's worse, the team seems has little to no communication with the design team regarding what can cause an issue. The newest example will be hunter's invis chest which gives a damage boost after you leave invis, making user gaining additional benefit after the huge benefit of invisibility in a FPS game. The list goes on. To summarize, Bungie is on a sprint to make the PVP worse. And the fact that they blatantly IGNORES community feedback and PRETENDING they are listening -- is only a laugh to those who actually cares the game.

END OF RANT

The problem didn't end here. With the Content Vault (Which is so bad, but since Bungie has stated no more content will go into the vault I did not listed it as one of the arguments), Bungie had vaulted away a ton of maps that people loved -- and the returning of old maps are very often community less favored. There are no votes to which maps to get back. Could be worse, the newly addition maps are extremely unwelcomed by the community, and the trend is worrying.

CONCLUSION

The current state of the game is actually somewhat decent for new players. If you want to try it, it would be an amazing experience (ONLY IF YOU HAVE SOMEONE GUIDING YOU) and you can definitely play it for a couple seasons. However, this game isn't one you want to live in.
