Early Access Review
Overview
I strongly recommend this to those that are looking for a fresh experience with survival games. It has a very satisfying progression system- minus the bronze age- and some tiers of armor can be skipped depending on how comfortable you are with combat and parrying. With the addition Mistlands and Ashlands, magic feels like a fleshed out class now. The food and mead system also rewards you for preparing in advance for exploration/combat. The grind for food can be somewhat draining, but if you optimize your farms, it will be smoother. What sold me the most was the building system. I'm not crazy creative, but you can spend a lot of time making designs. Most people can easily put in a couple hundred hours (exhibit: myself), but if that's not your cup of tea, there are world modifiers to speed up progression more and give you QOL features.

A few things that the game can improve on
- integrated dodge roll button. Right now you have to hold right click and press spacebar, which can be a little tedious.
- separate resource rate modifier for food/building mats to find tune what level of grinding you want.
- the wind is pretty bad when sailing. Moder's power does not last nearly as long as it should for lengthy sea exploration.
- early game magic doesn't exist, but it is probably for design reasons as to not make early biomes too cheese-able.

Despite some flaws, I still recommend trying this game if you have $20 to spend.
