I usually don't write reviews but I've seen this game get a lot of flack. Some of it deserved, some of it not.

This game is like power fantasy XCOM. You get rewarded for going balls to the wall and combo-ing with your fellow knights. If you push forward and keep getting execute resets and kills, you take less damage then you would playing safe and hiding behind cover. Every enemy unit (and there are tons of them) has 3 actions they can do per turn, just like your knights. So, it is much stronger to use resources to dispatch them quickly than to play for cover and defense. If you cower behind walls you will get surrounded, choked, pinned, but if you get in their face the enemy can't do much. Even "tanky" enemies and melee-centric enemies melt to your knights close range damage.

The dialogue and story so far (I'm not close to beating the campaign at all I think) are superb. Every character is well fleshed out and I enjoy reading every piece of side dialogue, which is something I rarely do in these kinds of games.

Here is my big gripe with the game however; The music and voice acting is so limited in some parts it becomes headache inducing. I like to plan and micromanage the ♥♥♥♥ out my dudes, but if I want to do that I have to sit through the same 20 second basic ass marching band loop in the armory. I can't just turn the music off however, because some of the tracks are awesome. Boss fights and dialogue with your crew-mates is backed up by some really stellar music. Also when my knights get shot by the basic nurgle grunt I hear "It bleeds! It bleeds!" over and over again. Each enemy unit has like 5 lines of dialogue that gets old after the 3rd time you've heard it.

I've only had two technical problem with this game so far, the first is that when you lower the brightness sub 50, it ruins the graphics for me. Not sure how to explain it technically, but the quality goes way down and the colors get muted, just from lowering the brightness. The other is that, it gives you the option to hide some elements of the HUD in the settings, which is nice, but if you ever get a tutorial popup that requires you to press a button that you hid, you will be soft-locked and unable to do anything and be forced to ALT+F4.

Also, they are bringing the Twitch exclusive items into the game soon. So if you're avoiding this game because of that, it will be fixed.
