This game takes what was great about the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot and expands upon it but not in the way you'd expect. While the 2013 reboot was an awesome game, it was missing the actual "tomb raiding" aspect. This game remedies that entirely. The game has many secrets to find, many more tombs than the reboot, encourages exploration with the draw of items to help you in the game, the puzzles are more varied and challenging, combat takes a back seat to make way for the game to be a Tomb Raider game. It functions and is enjoyable yes, but isn't the main focus as was the 2013 reboot. As an old school Tomb Raider fan having grown up with the originals on PlayStation and playing the first reboot series by Crystal Dynamics on PS2 and Xbox 360 as well as the reboot initially on Xbox 360, I can safely say this game truly succeeds as not only an awesome game, but is also an incredible Tomb Raider game and is a welcome entry in the series. I look forward to playing Shadow of the Tomb Raider later this year for more Tomb Raider!
