I was so scared for this remake. I wanted so badly for this to be good and wanted NightDive to succeed against all odds. I followed this remake all the way back when it was first announced. Through thick and thin from it's complete revamp and refocus of vision to it's launch. Delay after delay after delay after delay and silence too. I was so scared the game was gonna be trash... Then I played it.

Not only did NightDive meet my expectations for this remake but they blew ALL of my expectations away. The refocus of their vision to be more in line with the original game and the 7-ish year wait was worth it in the end. They nailed the visuals, audio, music, and soul of System Shock while retaining what made the original so good. It felt amazing to get lost for hours on Citadel Station like I was playing for the first time ever again. The punishing design has been fully retained here as well so if you're not a fan of the OG game you're not gonna like this one. There have been some quality of life things (true death for not enabling a level's regen bay being reserved for max mission difficulty) and modernizations to basic gameplay (gunplay, movement, inventory, etc.) There could be some QOL improvements however (can we please get a vaporize all junk button ffs) but the "problems" I do have with this game are nitpicks at best.

What are you waiting for. hacker? Grab your laser rapier, jack into that cyberspace station, and take down Shodan!

This game is so damn good. It's pure survival horror at it's finest and hits so many beats right with the atmosphere, the wobbly voice acting, the crazy puzzles, the maze like Spencer Mansion, and the crazy monsters. This remake was absolutely amazing in 2002 and still holds up even in 2019 as an amazing way to step forth into the Resident Evil franchise to emerge yourself in the world of survival horror.

The perfect modern Fallout game. Screw Fallout 4. Forget Fallout 3. Fallout 76 is a joke. This is the game to play. It helps it was developed by members of the now defunct Black Isle Studios, the company behind Fallout 2 which is considered all around the best Fallout game. Obsidian did an absolutely amazing job with this game and THEY should be the ones doing Fallout. NOT BETHESDA

If smoking weed is anything like this game then I'll stick to playing this. Cuz drugs are bad m'kay.

I miss the days of this game's prime especially for competitive when you could shoot through a 7-8 foot thick concrete wall with an M4 and stop a B-Rush in like 5 seconds that way.

Doom (2016) is the prime example of how you bring an old classic into the modern era while keeping it old school. Gameplay focused. Story takes a backseat, but what is there is incredible. My only real complaint with the game is all the fights basically being arenas. But that kinda doesn't dawn upon me until I'm done with a fight. Overall, this reboot is a stunning revival of Doom and I cannot wait for Doom: Eternal.

This game depicts the result of being late for work. You bring forth the Green Apocalypse. Never be late for work folks.

Starts out spooky then goes ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane once you hit that castle and some 4 foot tall Spanish ♥♥♥♥♥♥ taunts you. One of the best games ever made tbh.
