One of the best games for local Co-Op. The dynamic split screen feature is insanely good! Almost too good to be true. I mean, seriously, how can it be this good?
The main story and especially the side quests are interesting and well written. I love how every item has its own little sweet description, which adds alot to the pen-and-paper-like feel. And even the little rats and hens have something to say everywhere you go. I love all those little details.
The audio brings great voice acting, a nice soundtrack and really good ambient sounds (e.g. inside the tavern, outside windy and rainy) which add alot to the immersion. It brings my new surround system to shine.
The visuals are lovely too. You can zoom in pretty far and see things in detail. The only negative here: the blur is too heavy when zoomed in completly.

I can fully recommend this game. Especially playing it together on the big screen with nice audio! :) :P

It is as beautiful as it looks. Lovely graphics, an awesome soundtrack and very precise controls make this game alot of fun. It is a little short but it has some replay value since there is a speedrunning component. Of course I recommend playing with a gamepad.

Damn this game is good. Reminds me of fast arena shooters like UT and Quake. Many people compare it to TF2, but I see it under the light of "Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory". Back then in 2003 we had those intense fights around different objectives on lan-parties with friends. Never again did I have this kind of tension in a game to achieve something and trying different approaches.

Since the gameplay is centered around the objectives, you get rewards/points for practically everything, which lowers the importance of frags by a huge degree. It is so important that a game recognises your thinking for example by rewarding you for just defending a specific point, even though no one is attacking. How often did I loose other games, because everything that counted were frags, even in a non-deathmatch gametype.

Only negative:
Matchmaking with friends is non-existant. You have to join the same server.

This is the best game I can think of, being no beat-em-up, to play competitive with a gamepad on your couch. There even are ranked matches with different tiers you can advance to. I don't think keyboard users have any advantage. You can even play the local multiplayer without any changes or disadvantages, since the core gameplay mechanic is not to leave the screen.

If you want to have some competition with your gamepad, local or online, get it!

The only negative thing I can think of are the weird custom skins some people activate, probably by console commands. The 'goat' sprite for example make it very hard to tell in which position the character currently is, which puts you into a disadvantage. I have no clue why the developer allows this it is a shame, but it does not happen often.

Well it is portal. What is not to like. Great voice-acting, great characters, awesome level-design, good jokes and the best way to mix story and puzzle-gameplay.

Singleplayer and co-op are both amazing. I didn't play any workshop maps, but I think with those you can have hundreds of hours of fun.

Now you are thinking in portals!

This game took way to much time. But I finished it and I had plenty of fun with my friends, since the recommendation. I loved the DLCs more than the main game. I found the stories more interesting and diversified, not as repetetive as the primary story. Overall plenty of fun and laughs were had. :P

I would recommend buying a 4-pack when on discount, picking up some friends and logging into a voice-chat. :)

I will recommend this game, even though I would never do a second playthrough on it. It is just way to repetitive. This is why I refused to play the pre-sequel. The good news is, you will have plenty of fun when playing with friends and voice-chat!

Like in the first part, the main story bored the hell out of me. All the better, that I loved the DLCs in both games. The stories are fun, the levels and enemies are less repetitive and they don't take ages to complete. But you can disregard the bad main story since you are having a ton of fun with your friends, so buy a 4-pack together and get to it! ... but maybe when on sale. :)

I recommend this game even though it has some huge gameplay and map-design flaws.
One reason is, that this game is still under heavy development, and I still think it can be huge success. Another reason for sure is, that I absolutely loved the stalker game series, which is kind of a singleplayer relative to this game.

Pros:
- awesome development goals
- nice graphics with own charm to it
- good atmosphere
- pretty good and helpful community
- nice equipment system
- new multiplayer gamemode ideas (not only old TDM, CTF, ...)

Cons:
- suboptimal and sometimes flawed map-design
- not yet polished
- unfair and sometimes frustrating level/tier system
- matchmaking only with two friends
- no ingame voice

I recommend this game for its AWESOME gameplay!! Especially if you wanna play alone. If it is on sale. Get it! have some fun!

As soon as you want to play with friends, this game shows its ugly unfinished beta-face. Besides the plenty of bugs the matchmaking for friends is absolutly hell. Don't get me wrong, I had some very fun hours with this game. But let me just say this: It is possible to invite your friends to a party and queue for a game, BUT you will very likely not end up in the same team. :D
This is ok, for the first match you end up in, because it already started. But the game sometimes can't even manage to place you in the right team for the second match.

Especially if you are more then 3 players it is impossible to play together. This disables this game to be any more then fun for a few hours. I voted it down because I am so disappointed. As I said, the gameplay is one of the best I've ever encountered, and they ruin all of this with matchmaking. What a shame.
Another thing, which makes this game 'casual' is things like a flawed display for the health of the titans. This is one of the most crucial elements, and it doesn't work.
Also, the game has plenty of lag-spikes, my connection is fine, I had a ping of 20ms, but I guess the netcode is just bad.

Another complain I have with this game, is that it is not marked 'early access' within the store. This game is far from finished.

TL;DR:
If it is on sale. Get it with a friend and have one, or two evenings of really good gameplay. Don't get it if you are searching a shooter you can get into, and play often with a fixed team.

Also, developers: Please finish this game! The gameplay is soooooo good.

Really beautiful and cute game. A little bit short though. Controls have been okay for me and my girlfriend.
