I'm a huge fan of the Monster Hunter series and have been playing since 4 Ultimate; World is a fantastic game., everything from the monsters, environments, animations, designs, etc. This game is very different from its older siblings, good and bad.

I love the open world environments. No longer having to go in and out of loading zones is fantastic. The world really feels alive. The AI is also better, as monsters are now able to fight each other, palicos are more helpful (for the most part). Movement and controls are so much better. The heavy weapons feel heavy, combos are more easily and fun to pull off, bowguns are so much more fun. The weapon tree is a great addition and skills are better.

I don't like how some of the weapons designs are the same but with only a few things changed, mostly for the bowguns. Limited time events are dumb, as in the older games, they stayed forever. Limited amount of monsters (but I can see why, so i'm not really disappointed). Palico customization is limited. (The older games had palico support types and skills you could customize). No snowy environment (but Iceborne is coming, so lets wait and see how that works out.)

but the good outweighs the bad by a large margin. If you are a fan of the Monster Hunter series, get this game. If you are new and interested, get this game.
