Stick with Civilization V until they fix the many issues that have already been brought up by many reviewers.

Summary of main problems I've encountered.

- Enormous continent map, 9 AI players, I meet 5 Civs in the first 20 turns and have 1 CIV right next to my capital.
- Religion is annoying, 3 religious neighbouring Civs spamming you with missionaries and prophets, the only way to stop it is to declare war.
- Annoying cut scenes by every Civ who have already denounced you to say they are not happy with you.
- Movement is opinionated, but I do not like the slow pace. I have an archer and they wont go up a freaking hill with one movement left in time of war. You bust a gut to get up there!
- AI never seem to use bombers during war.
- Expensive DLC's, better off just waiting until they release all of them in some gold pack version.
- Civs building right next to your city and expect you to not build near them.
- Going to war due to the Civ building right next to you pretty much makes you a warmonger.
- I still don't like the AI difficulties which does not seem to have changed from previous CIV games. All it is the higher you go, the more cheat bonuses the AI gets.
- No automation e.g. Military engineer to auto build railway roads would be nice

Civilization VI positives
- Districts and building harbours if you aren't on the coastline
- Art looks decent, but I prefer less cartoony graphics ( Maybe its an age thing)
- Traders auto build roads

In it's current form I do not recommend Civilization VI
