If you enjoy RPGs as a structure and genre then you can see where the game shines, otherwise this is not really for you. Estelle is a good character, given life by the extremely talented localization.

Valkyria Chronicles has an entire aesthetic going around that I love. It's trial and error, bosses are hard and to that I say SKILL ISSUE: the presentation alone is reason enough to play VC, but thanks to the tactical and third person sections the immersion is imminent. Getting an A rank after playing a stage for hours feels very rewarding, even though it rewards scout rushing.

My recommendation is YES, play Valkyria Chronicles! It's an incredibly novel and fresh experience, even by today's standards. Selvaria is very cool and I love her.

I love the bump system, after getting used to it you'll wonder why they don't make any more game with it... until you're at the boss fights. I sincerely appreciated YS I and XSEED really polished everything about it, from godlike music to addicting combat.
I understand when fights test your patience and your skills with the game, yet sometimes the boss fights feel like a chore, especially a certain couple (i hate mages, bats and dark opinions) and for that reason YS I will only get a slight thumbs up. If you can keep up with odd design choices and the somewhat technical demo aspect of the game, then it's for you, despite everything it's still very charming.

Minimalist to a fault, Dragon Ruins is exactly what it reads on the label: you enter the dungeon, you explore, you come out, restock, so on and so forth. It's a fun bite-sized game, I would've loved more of it but what I played showed love and care. Phenomenal sounds and pixel art.

Felvidek is a labor of love and it's shown in every nook and cranny, aside from the funny ahah humor there is depth in its story and characters. I recommend it hands down.

There is literally no way to play this game, tutorial is bare bones and monetization rampant. No thank you.

Vanaris Tactics ends up catering to a very difficult target audience and I don't feel like it really accomplished its goal. On one hand, it's a solid entry in the tactical genre, being short doesn't belittle its depth and interesting poison\bleed system. On the other hand, its story is strong just about around the start and the end of the game, everywhere else feels very rushed. At the same time playing with mouse and keyboard doesn't let you hover on top of the UI, which can be frustrating. There are obviously many small issues like these, given the amateurish nature of the game, which are probably the reason why I wouldn't recommend the game to everyone, but if you enjoy tactical games, have some bucks and five hours to spare, why not.

Quite short but good ride, it's got a couple of good puzzles and getting the secret ending requires some out of the box thinking. I would recommend getting it on sale, but the DLC alone (and its very hard levels) make up for it.

I've played this game a long time before getting it on PC. The PC version has a lot of good things but please use the old UI, the new one lacks the charm of the old version.
