Phenomenal. Just super fun to play. I enjoyed World Tour, I finally beat Hardest without losing, online is fun and active. The gameplay is super enjoyable.

I bought 5. A friend I spent hundreds of hours playing Street Fighter 4 with talked me into it. We played multiple times, and I liked Menat, but I didn’t like the game.

When SF4 came out, I enjoyed it a lot, but wasn’t sure it was a step up from SF3. By the time it was done evolving over the years, I was really happy with the game it became.

SF5 was not for me.

SF6 had me out of the gate. The gameplay and art are a huge step up over SF5, and it is definitely a game I can see myself playing for many years.

While I don’t use Modern Controls, I do appreciate that they’re there for new gamers, and would recommend this to anyone on the fence as a result. Accessible, fun and filled with content. Definitely worth picking up.

My one gripe? It is way too many buttons to quit the game from various parts of the game. Quit game should not require me to back out of practice and then Training Grounds before I can select “Quit to Desktop” from the menu.

EDIT: It's February 2025 and this is almost certainly going to overtake Rocket League as the game I have spent the most hours playing. It's a gem of a game and even some of the menu issues have been improved since I wrote my review.

If you're reading this and you're on the fence, buy it. It's the best versus fighter we've had in decades, maybe ever. No, it's not perfect, but it's a ton of fun and you won't regret picking it up.
