Casual is in a playable state which is really all that matters now, despite the following flaws:

There hasn't been a major update since 2018, and there'll likely never be another. All we get are bare minimum loot boxes and map updates. This is the norm now and at this point all we really care about now is the game not being held hostage by cheaters. Also, they're trying new things with vscript, so "official" releases made by the community like Saxton Hale and Zombies is rad.

Competitive matchmaking is dead with its unnecessary graphic restrictions (such as minimum dx9 and cannot hide viewmodels), no incentives to play, and no ruleset, it's just two teams of 6v6 with no limits. I'm not sure why anyone would bother with this when you can find pug groups in your area with the rulesets you want to play (4v4, 6v6, highlander, class limits and weapon bans, etc)

Community servers are lacking in traditional settings, and the most popular server hosters use "fake ping" to make it seem like their servers are based in your location when they're in fact not. Because of this, it makes it difficult to differentiate regional servers from the fakes.
