As of Season 21 (Season of the Deep) the game and community are in one of the worst states I have ever seen. This game could be one of the best games ever but is held back by LAZINESS and GREED. Bungie are currently milking as much money out of their community as they can while giving us the ABSOLUTE bare minimum in terms of CONTENT and BALANCE CHANGES.

With the recent state of the game post they made it became clear this game is not being maintained to the quality it deserves on purpose. They pretty much announced that one of the CORE MODES in this game (Gambit) would pretty much be made entirely optional and no longer maintained. They have said in order for PVP (Crucible) to get more than ONE new map we have to "sacrifice" new story or Exotic mission content, core activities that make up the foundation of each Season, or new destinations (Stuff that we PAY FOR with DLC, Eververse).

The very obvious large focus on Eververse and micro-transactions have been talked about all season because they have become greedier with new armor sets, Shaders that would usually come free with the season being locked in $10 ornament bundles. They said they didn't make new ritual armor for the release of Lightfall because people didn't use them. I personally didn't use them because instead of unique and ritual specific armor we got a RARE armor set turned LEGENDARY and painted in orange, green, and red. Yet we watched as new events got an armor set each and the Playstation, Fortnite, and Assassins Creed armor sets came out and the season pass paid track got new ornaments and yet in game we got nothing close to that level of cosmetics and loot. They took events that are supposed to fun and limited time and gave them barebone quests and lazy modes but stocked the Eververse store with countless ornaments, ghosts, emotes and transmat effects.

The community talking about raid boss health being smaller than dungeon boss health and solo dungeons feeling like a slow boring slog rather than a challenge and yet NO changes towards health pools for either endgame activity.

The rampant CHEATERS and XIM users in Competivite and Trials that will be reported and posted by large streamers and STILL be playing weeks/months later with no sign of a ban anytime soon.

The game is clearly not the priority over at Bungie and it saddens me to see that what was once my favorite game of all time has now become something I feel trapped in because of how much time I have invested and how mistreated I feel knowing that feedback is always met with silence or them trying to convince us that what they are doing is okay and that we are wrong for our opinions.

I cannot at all recommend this game to anyone who isn't already deep in money wise. Try it for free if you want but unless you want to spend an absurd amount of money to enjoy the game then do not bother at all. They do not deserve anymore new players right now until they finally show that they as a studio care about the game that funds their other games.
