Intravenous 2 gives me something that I always wanted from a video game.

It takes stealth elements from Metal Gear and Splinter Cell and combines them with brutal top down shooter action like Hotline Miami. And it let's you pick exactly how you wan't to approach each mission. Go loud and hunt everybody down? No problem. Wanna be stealthy and not kill anyone? Sure, do your thing. The game will provide you with enough tools to do the mission how you like.
In my first missions I tried to be as stealthy as possible. I wanted to kill the person I was after and leave without anyone knowing I was there. Halfway through the mission everything went wrong, shots were fired and I was holding a building with an Assault Rifle, while goons cleared every room around me, trying to get to me. It is awesome how quick your playthrough can change and it never feels like you failed. You just did a mistake, the game will react to it and just continues, while you have to improvise and I love that.

Don't feel like stealth? Just start shooting up the place and the game will react accordingly but won't punish you for playing how you want. It is very refreshing. A lot of games in a similar genre claim that you can choose how to play, while at the same time favoring one playstyle over the other and actively punishing you for playing how you want. I always hated when games do that and then present you with the mission end screen, giving you a C rank because you didn't play the level exactly how the game dictated.
Intravenous doesn't do this and just tells you the stats flat out and let's you be the judge on how you did.

The sound design and music is also very good. When it comes to the sounds, everything sounds exactly how it should.
If the sounds you hear are loud, then the enemies will probably hear it too. If it sounds quiet, then you are probably sneaky.
Even the surface you walk on has an effect on how well the enemy can hear you. Same with gunfire. Just because you have a surpressed gun, doesn't mean they won't hear it going off like 10 meters next to them. But people in a different building might not hear it.

The music is also bang on and complements whatever you are currently doing. I love when games have a dynamic soundtrack. If you sneak around and nobody knows you are there, then the music will be quiet. If your presence is known but you are not actively in combat, it switches to a more intense theme. And if you are actively fighting, the music goes full ham head banger mode and only stops when the fight is over or you slipped away unnoticed.

I highly recommend this game, even at full price, to anyone that likes either stealth games, actions games or both.

Can you have fun with the game? Probably but there are a lot and I mean a lot of problems that hinder the gameplay experience. I tried the game shortly after release and it was god awful so I just refunded. Now I wanted to give it a shot again after some time has passed and almost nothing has changed.

For starters, the game just keeps crashing and freezing and within 4 hours of playtime it crashed 8 times. 8 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ times... That is more than unacceptable. It feels outright criminal that they actually charge 70+ Bucks for this piece of ♥♥♥♥ that doesn't even wanna run for more than 20 minutes.

I can't even launch the game correctly and I have to delete some random cache file every time I want to start the game. Stuff like that makes me wonder what the A's in AAA stand for.

Next thing, if you wanna play this with a controller, prepare to get EA'd because you are not allowed to change the key bindings on a controller. Why? No clue.

So after getting the game to run (for a bit) and getting used to the default controller key binds, how was the game?
Honestly? Not too bad. Driving feels fun, the double nitro mechanic is cool and I really like the visual style they choose. For more praise though, I would have to lower the bar by a lot and I think I made my point anyway.

I can deal with some of the problems I listed but the game constantly crashing keeps me from enjoying the game.
But at least I knew I was risking something with giving the Need for Speed franchise another shot, so props for being consistently bad, I guess.

Do not buy at full price and even if you buy it for like 5 bucks it still might not be worth for you.

Good game, fantastic experience. If you clicked on this game because it looked interesting to you, you are probably the target audience, but for a different reason than you might think.

This is a good one. I had my concerns with this being a gacha and all but so far it actually seems fair compared to other gacha games.

I never played the first Girls Frontline but I've followed the plot somewhat because I was interested in the Story, just not the gameplay. Personally I had no issues following what was going on in the story for this one but I also think I would have been fine without knowing anything about the original game. Story can be enjoyed standalone but keep in mind, some references to past characters and events will be made. Sometimes you get exposition to those, sometimes you won't.

Gameplay wise, you get a very trimmed down version of XCOM-style combat. Combat is turn based and takes place on a grid.
You got very simple cover and damage mechanics that get complimented with abilities and the occasional map mechanic like explosive crates, conveyor belts and so on. There are also weaknesses with different damage- and element types.

The gacha so far seemed pretty fair and I got what I've wanted relatively quick. Though keep in mind it is still gacha and even with it's pity system you might not get everything you aim for, especially if you plan on playing competitively. Do you need the strongest things to get through the game and have fun? No, not really since the game is more on the easier side of things but there are things for whales to compete in.

It does have indirect PvP (ranked and unranked) if you care about competing with other players.

Overall I think it is worth trying out if you got interested by the trailers.

Pacific Drive is probably one of the most atmospheric games I've played. It's not really a horror game but it tends to create an unsetteling environment with it's visual- & sound design. I love when games just let me play at my pace when it comes to it's story, so I don't need something to rush me all the time and the game respects that.

One thing I noticed though, is that once you are in a run, you have to finish that run. You cannot save while on the road and only in your garage. For some trips it is fine but sometimes you play up to 2 hours to reach your destination. So far my sessions have been long enough so it was no issue but damn, just let me save while on a trip.

One thing I always praise in games is that lets you customize every single minute detail about gameplay, like how much damage does this, how long lasts this item / element etc. which lets everyone play how they want the game to feel.

The music was also a highlight for me as it fits the game perfectly, though the song selection of the radio station is limited and gets repetitive after a while. But it also allows to put in your custom music in between the original songs, so you can improve on that yourself if you need to.

I bought it for 40% and I can say the purchase was definitely worth it. Would I be happy if I spend the full price? Maybe, but I would still recommend waiting for a sale. The game is very niche and not for everyone. If you got interested by the trailer and don't mind somewhat repetitive gameplay, it is probably for you.
You play this for the journey, not the destination.

Slow tactical shooter that's more than just spastic running around and twitchy shooting. It's especially fun with friends, but the AI ​​can do its thing too.

This game is the embodiment of "one down, 18,446,744,073,709,551,615 more to go" without being discouraged, when you realize it is impossible for anyone to archive in our combined lifetimes.

I have accumulated over 130 hours pre-release on Epic and I have enjoyed almost every second of it. I had my problems here and there with the trial version and was therefore all the more pleased with how good the actual release is.
I would also like to point out that the developers gave us the opportunity to get a free Steam key if we owned the game on Epic. Kudos for that!
Sins of a Solar Empire II is everything I ever wanted from an space RTS. It combines 4X and real-time strategy masterfully. It looks, sounds and plays good too.

One little criticism I have and you may have already noticed is the price. We did get a reduced price for the release but almost €100 for the premium edition, that at launch is not including more content than base game, is a lot. I have enough trust in the developers to say that the promised content will come but still, €100 for a promise is a lot. Maybe this will be more of a non-issue with a lot of sales in the future but who knows.

But if you have played Sins of a Solar Empire Trinity or Rebellion and thought you would like more of that but modern, then you can skip the review and just get the game. It is like the older Sins titles but refined.
If you have no experience with RTS games, it is also a good game to get into the genre, as it allows you to customize the gaming experience to your liking.
And for all RTS veterans, there is definitely a lot of stuff that was not found in other genre titles. Sins doesn't reinvent the wheel, but it's a breath of fresh air in the sterile RTS space where a lot of games copy what others do.

TLDR: It's a good game, genre fans, treat yourselves. RTS isn't dead yet.
