Probably one of the most complex games ever created, with an insane learning curve that scares a lot of people away from trying it(it took me a year of owning EU3 before I finally made myself learn it. Never looked back). Dont be afraid, and by all means ask the community for help(especially twitch communities like mine or other streamers).

If you want the best empire simulator you can find, where you have almost endless ways to play, this is your holy grail.

If you want much better combat, and sub par empire simulation, TW isnt bad.

If you want better combat and ok empire simulation, the civ series delivers.

My hours are definitely not a hint on which one I prefer... Kappa


Edited this review based on how paradox has treated the game the last year or two. Trash content DLC, with "updates" that break the game and they have to spend months fixing, culminating with the only DLC I dont own for this game, "leviathan", and its subsequent patch, being so broken and missing so much content that it made the game unplayable, literally.

...yet they ask 200+$ for the game and its DLC, yet dont playtest or at least give you a working product. Less and less content, or even working code with every release.

7000+ hours and youve now lost me paradox. I ignored the imperator crapfest, as I avoided buying it, but after this I cant. Youre becoming a cashgrab POS like every awesome game company has that came before you. I wont ever pre-purchase something from them again, and unless its very well reviewed, refuse to buy any new content. F$%# practices like this.
