Early Access Review
Graphics are garbage. Controls are trash. Art is derivative. I love this game.

Better than Skyrim. Worse than Morrowind.

PROS: Bloodborne 2. Great art design. Music is great. Somber atmosphere really sucks you in. Gameplay is challenging but fair... although parry window is tight it's necessary considering parrying is such an important component of the gameplay. Upcoming patch which will allow dodging from the ground by default will help balance difficulty anyway. Blade/handle customization system allows for approaching problems in unique ways.

CONS: Besides aesthetics is a total Bloodborne/Dark Souls clone. This doesn't bother me personally, but I can imagine some people might get a "been there done that" vibe from the game considering it doesn't take many risks with the formula. Of course, "if it ain't broke don't fix it," but I might have enjoyed a more unique approach to the soulsborne formula.

Overall satisfying, challenging, and immersive. 100% recommended for fans of the genre or those curious about the genre... but if you didn't like Dark Souls or Bloodborne you're more than likely not going to like this either.

PROS: Super fluid gameplay. Hold system makes for a good guessing game against opponents. Character designs are great. Super detailed tutorial ushers in noobs well.

MIDS: Weak story mode. Single player content is okay but not mind-blowing.

CONS: Although not as predatory as other fighting games, DLC is obnoxious.

PROS: A great Metroidvania. Basically a sequel to Symphony of the Night. Randomizer mode is super fun. Great replayability. Music is awesome. Difficulty is tuned well.

CONS: Shaders and lighting look a little weird. Story is a bit weak, although story isn't very important in these kinds of games so not a big deal.

If you're a fan of the genre this is a must-buy. 55 hours at the time of this review and I still feel like there is a whole lot more game waiting for me.

Solid mechanics (needs more ambush kameos though), but a lack of single player content and ridiculously priced microtransactions really bring down the quality. Will change this review if they improve things.

Great single player content, great multiplayer content. Rollback netcode is consistent. Balance is on point. This might actually be the best fighting game ever, if not a contender. Absolutely worth the money.

Faithful ports with convenient extra features. My only gripe is the price tag. A bit high for what you're getting.

A horror classic. Put headphones on and get ready to get jumpscared. Good luck with the lore.

Deviates too far from the FNAF formula and just feels clunky to play. If you're a FNAF super-fan you could justify the purchase just for the experience, but IMO it's too far-removed from both a gameplay and story perspective. Change can be good sometimes, but in this circumstance it's not.
