Incredible atmosphere, a deep story that isn't always in your face, intensely satisfying boss fights, and tight controls all combine to make this one of the best games, if not the best game, I've ever played. Team Cherry has done something special, and I think Hollow Knight deserves all the praise it's given.

And on top of that, for 15 bucks? There's no reason you shouldn't play this game.

This game was great at introducing new concepts to the player and had many interesting ideas, as well as a semi-interesting plot if you explored a little. The only problem which this game did not address was linking all the ideas it had into one big amazing holy crap this is awesome puzzle. There were so many game mechanics that by the end I wasn't even sure when some of them showed up and others seemed to dissapear entirely. The whole thing almost felt like one big tutorial, and it left me with a completely unfulfilled thirst for more maps and puzzles. Also there were some mechanics that were sort of tiresome and unnecessary, like being able to pass through tight spaces which, if the mechanic was removed, in the later stages would be obselete.

Normally a performance like this in any game would make me downvote easily, but the reason why I'm ok with how it panned out is the one little mods folder on the menu screen. It seems to have links to steam workshop, which to me might mean community created maps which with this much potential would be INSANE. I hope there is a simple way to create new levels, because once people get their hands on these mechanics, the possibilities would skyrocket.

This game BLOWS YOUR MIND. All you need is the first few minutes of gameplay and you will be hooked unless you have no sense for awesome game concepts. If you've ever played monument valley then this will be farmiliar to you, sort of. I highly reccomend this game to everyone. One of the best games out there and encompasses everything great about gaming.

Get this game, and never feel the same again. 9/10

Very good quality and game setup. Can't get that many items for free, not sure how that works still. 9 out of 10.
