The brainstem connects the spinal cord to the remainder of the brain (figure
8.21). It consists of three parts: (1) the medulla oblongata, (2) the pons, and
(3) the midbrain. The brainstem contains several nuclei involved in vital body
functions, such as the control of heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing.
Damage to small areas of the brainstem can cause death, whereas damage to
relatively large areas of the cerebrum or cerebellum often do not. Nuclei for
all but the first two cranial nerves are also located in the brainstem

Champorado Recipe:
Ingredients:

▢ 5 pieces tablea pure chocolate
▢ 1 3/4 cups glutinous rice or sushi rice
▢ 3/4 cup granulated white sugar
▢ 6 to 8 cups water
▢ Condensed milk to taste

Instructions

1. Pour water in a cooking pot. Bring to a boil.
2. Put-in the tablea and then stir. Let it dissolve in boiling water.
3. Add-in the rice. Let the water re-boil. Set the heat to low-medium and then stir almost constantly to avoid sticking. The rice should be ready when it absorbs the water (about 15 to 25 minutes).
4. Add the sugar. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
5. Transfer the champorado in individual serving bowls. Top with condensed milk.
6. Serve with tuyo. Share and enjoy.

The first symptoms of rabies may be similar to the flu, including weakness or discomfort, fever, or headache. There also may be discomfort, prickling, or an itching sensation at the site of the bite. These symptoms may last for days. Symptoms then progress to cerebral dysfunction, anxiety, confusion, and agitation.
