I bought this game some time ago to do skirmish with friends, its great for pick up games, but after so many it looses its luster, every combat feels.. similar, without getting into mods.

In one of the Dev-logs closer to the start of the year they had shown off the Conquest game mode, and i was immediately in love with the idea. They put a lot of detail into making what they had to show feel as in universe as possible.

Sadly last night they released information saying that conquest game-mode was on hold for the foreseeable future because getting the Strategic game to mesh well with the Tactical game was going to be a herculean task.

While I still love the game and do support the devs, I must leave a negative review to show my belief that this was a wrong call to make. If you want to do PvP and Co-op Skirmishes, the game is lovely.

It has that flash game right out of the 2000's feel, add onto that a KICK ASS Soundtrack and compelling story. Is it a hard game? Yeah It can be. But damn is it worth it.

Honestly this is a real treat of a game.

If you like rimworld, but also like the larger City-state esc feel of things. This game is probably a good fit for you. It also has some wonderful RTS esc elements similar to total war series of games.

So lets see... EAC and apparently selling out to use crypto as an in-game currency

They made changes to the Economy so it isn't so bad now.

New EULA makes the game literal and utter spyware, and take anything you do to be sellable.

"The information we collect may include personal information such as your first and/or last name, e-mail address, phone number, photo, mailing address, geolocation, or payment information. In addition, we may collect your age, gender, date of birth, zip code, hardware configuration, console ID, software products played, survey data, purchases, IP address and the systems you have played on. We may combine the information with your personal information and across other computers or devices that you may use."

Subnautica is perhaps one of the best games I have receved. While it is still in development the updates are regular and never really lacking content. The story itself is still being hashed out, but with what is currently in the game, its hours of fun, and hours of being scared of stupid big fish.
