While generally pretty slow and methodical, I've enjoyed my time so far and found myself spending 80+ hours in Rings of Saturn so far. You are captain of a ship come to find riches in the rings of Saturn. The basic gameplay loop is diving into the rings, mining asteroids for ore, and selling it at the local station. You can get new equipment for your ship, an ore refinery to crunch down raw rocks into pure resources (which do not take up physical space in your normal cargo bay) letting you extend your dives, or even sell your refined ore out in the fields to habitat stations in the ring. You can get bigger ships, find derelicts, combat and bounty hunting. There are even some quests to do, though no log to keep track of things you are doing, just your own memory. Equipment and ships also seem generally pretty balanced, with most gear being horizontal upgrades with benefits and trade offs. Cargo bay upgrades for instance are all ore refineries (with exception of the cheapest option), but the refineries have different shapes in your cargo hold, as well as efficiency. One might affect the whole cargo hold but only at 40% efficiency, meaning 60% of ore is lost. Another might have 90% for ore but 0 for water (which is fuel). Decisions to make when fitting out your ship. There is also modding support but the NexusMods page doesn't have many mods, and there is no Steam Workshop. There is a demo so give it a try if it seems interesting and see how far the rings take you.
