Power slave otherwise known as exhumed or i knew it from playing it on my sega saturn is a 90s metrovania fps game which is vastly different to the pc port which ran on the build engine this is a remastered version of the console version remade from nightdive studios and it is amazing it brought back so many good memories for me.

The plot.

You play as a unnamed solider part of an elite squad sent to investigate the strange happenings in the Egyptian city of Karnak your'e chopper gets shot down all you're teammates excpet you and you're mission begins you encounter the tomb of ramses whom act as you're guide and gives hints and to further you're journey Ramses informs you that an alien race known as the killmaart empire has being trying to drain the lifeforce of the mummified corpse of ramses to use an a weapon.

Gameplay.

You start off with a sword which serves as you're melee weapon soon after you find you're first gun which is a pistol which uses a weapon power which can be collected by slain enemies which appear as blue orbs red orbs are to refill you're health. This game requires alot back tracking to find key items to continue you're journey everything from sandles which grants you higher jump height to the mask of sobek to progress in water without you simple cant go near water to other items to glide to out right hover all are needed to progress.Weapons like previous stated you start off with a sword later a pistol then possible the best most useful weapon the M60 Machine Gun this bad boy you will use most of the game also you have bombs to destroy walls also a cool flamethrower,cobra stallf,ring of ra and lastly the Manacle all are useful but the m60 is the go to weapon to deal with most enemies.

Music and sound.

This game has some amazing music partically the boss music gets you pump for the battle ahead which all good boss music should do as for sound effect all sound good the enemies have distint sound to let the player know what you dealing with also the guns sound good and impact full like the m60.

Graphics.

This game looks great the guys at night dive studios did a great job remastering this game from the ground up like the great job they did on the turok remasters.

Conclution.

This game is great and challenging also night dive added more collectables to give the player more to look out for during their playthrough other than the transmitter parts to receive the either the good or bad ending.I highly recommend this game it brings back so much fond memories for me.

Some may not enjoy the need to back track to previous areas but if you enjoy metrovania games go give this game a try.
