I'm only a few hours in (read: finally got past the introduction/prologue to where the game title sequence occurs) and I am enjoying it so far. Sure there are some flaws, but nothing has been bad in a way that ruins the game for me (more in a bit).

Very minor spoilers ahead, but they're from the first mission or so, so they aren't really big. Still, just letting you know.

The game is about realism and detail and I really enjoy that. Combat can be frustrating at times, but I'd rather be frustrated with this kind of swordplay than bored with just clicking M1 while I'm mowing down hordes of enemies. They game doesn't really hold your hand and you have to actually figure things out. Early on you run into a group of soldiers that vastly outnumber you and its impossible to win, except you aren't really supposed to fight them head on, the game just doesn't say how to go about getting them away from your friend so she can escape them. But I like that.

I finally got to a part where I'm hoping I can take a break from the main quest and explore what the game has to offer. The world is well designed and the game looks very nice in my opinion, and I'm only running on High (40-60fps, which is fine by me), with there being two more levels of graphics quality above that. There seems to be much to explore in terms of things to do, and once I play through those I'll try and amend this review.

My one negative is that yes, there are some frame rate issues, but they only happen during certain cutscenes that are rendered in the engine (i.e., not obvious pre recorded footage parts). I wouldn't go so far as to say that it's a game breaking issue, but it is definitely annoying and noticeable. So far it only sems to happen in scenes where there are a lot of effects going on such as smoke, rain, wind moving the foliage, and characters moving and talking. I really hope that this is something the developers can work on and fix in a future update.

All in all, this game really depends on what you like. If you're a fan of the genre I think you will find the game okay.

In my honest opinion, I see this being a good game at worst, and a classic at best.
