Talking about this remake is like trying to figure out which cable's the right one to cut; except, the bomb goes off every single time, no matter which one you cut. I despise this remake... But I get why people like it?
Everyone who hasn't played the original (that's still abandon-ware) will absolutely love it- and that's because the original is an unbelievable piece of storytelling cinema. I guess even some old fans like it because... I- don't know- I really don't know...

The remake to me feels like a very poorly copied homework assignment. Just, you know, get the story right, but change like the word count by- making it longer, writing some things differently- and making it more conventionally dramatic- oh and erasing any sense of ambiguity from the characters...

Silent Hill 2 Remake feels so boring to play- even more on your second playthrough (have fun reaching all of the endings). It's a scary theme ride which part-way stops, so that you "feel" that it's longer, but in the end, it's just an 8 hour long story- stretched to 16. The game promises more "exploration" and yeah- it does so by changing every single free roam level layout from the original to be a linear-maze like mess (I will eat my whole monitor if I have to go through the apartments one more time).

They made some changes to Eddie as a character though- so that's good. Glad I liked something in this re-imagining.
