Edit: Update after Nightmares and Visions.
I'm busy playing the game, got no time to write updates.

Edit: Update after 1st anniversary patch.
The game feels more fresh than ever, many new maps added, balance passes, bug fixes, new talent system, new difficulties, more rewards, you name it and that is besides so many people having returned to the game to play together. This is a very good time to pick up the game.

Edit: Update after Blessings of the Omnissiah.
Everything in the game feels even better now. The spike in player power has most significantly made for a better overall experience of the game at higher difficulty. The crafting and build system have added a good layer of build customization and farming meta to the game. Exploring the levels to find mats no longer feels pointless and is much better rewarded now at the same time. We have many more and very welcome QoL changes.

Original Review:
I've read all the negative reviews of the game and in my opinion Sure it doesn't have everything they promised. Sure progress becomes meaningless and uncertain after a point in the game.
But, it's simply unfair not to recommend the game. This game in its current state is easily 200 hours of fun. I still find myself jumping into it from time to time and enjoying what it has. QoL changes as well as many fixes and balance changes have all done good to this game. I'm hopeful there will be more of this game in the future, and that we get to have more control over how we want to arm ourselves.
